Why Does Front Brake Line Cross Over Fender Right to Left?

Here is a pic of my '09. Why does the front brake line cross over the fender from right of bike to left rotor, and then cross over fender to other side from left to right? This is ugly IMO. My Concours drops the line straight down behind right fork tube then crosses over to other rotor from right to left. Much less noticeable it seems.

Was there a reason for this? Do all the FZ6s do this?

When it crosses left to right, the brake line won't have to flex as much when the forks compress. So it's a good thing.

Yes, mine is set up this way, as well. FWIW, my '09 BMW with braided SS brake lines is set up similarly with line running straight down between the forks and splitting in the center of the front fender.
