    bothering trend .. rant ..

Ok, I feel your pain, but let me throw out some counterpoints. For me, the difficulty evaluating the price of a product, whether talking about bikes or dishwashers, is because price is relative. But to what? Most of us are so accustomed to the cost savings that mass production provides...

Ducati Desmosedici GP10 MotoGP Race Bike unveiled

I like Stoner and think he's the underdog to Rossi. I heard he's a bit of an intravert and chalk up his behaviour to that. Not defending any truely rude behaviour on his part though. I'd like to see Nicky have a better year, he really had some tough breaks last year. And Rossi, that dude...

I dare you to go for a ride this weekend?

Driveway is clear but neighborhood roads are still snow packed and main roads are salted and sanded. I did spark plugs and TBS on another bike Saturday and was considering a run up the driveway and into the garage, but nah, that would just be cruel. :(

    Steering head bearings

Be sure to pre-torque the lower nut according to specs: 1. First, tighten the ring nut to approximately 52 Nm (5.2 m-kg, 38 ft-lb) with a torque wrench, then loosen the ring nut completely. 2. Retighten the lower ring nut 18 Nm (1.8 m-kg, 13 ft-lb).

    Throttle Sync Question

Yes. The Motion Pro uses a restrictor (with an incredibly small hole) which is put in each of the hoses and connects to each throttle body port. Also, are you trying to do this with only a single gauge? If so, I don't think its possible to get an accurate sync. As you make adjustments to...

    New FJR 1300

Is this from the International Motorcycle Show up in Seattle? Yeah, we don't get any motorcycle shows coming through Denver. Like some kind of void here or something.

    BMW S1000RR - impressive

I know BMW has plans to break into the serious sportbike market and thus is pricing it aggressively. I just hope the dealers don't price gouge. Probably too much to ask.

    For all you internet gurus...

The little bit I know is your rank within Google is based on others linking to your site. PageRank - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I've heard of folks successfully creating webpages with links to their own site, thus boosting their own ratings, but believe Google is hip to it now. Dunno...

    First Bike, First Crash

It's not your fault at all, even if you coulda/shoulda/woulda anticipated her stupid move. You had right of way, she violated it. It's clear cut to me. Am I the only one?

    Windows 7

Do you mean Win7 issues? If so, I'm a die-hard XP fan and finally upgraded to Win7 few weeks ago. No problems so far other than adjusting to new GUI and even that's not that big a deal.

    If you were me?

I voted for the cage, but frankly I'm surprised the poll is going that way too. Who knew FZ6 riders were so rational? I ride for fun and there are times when road or weather conditions are just too crappy to enjoy the ride, or worse risk property and life.

FZ6 Steering head bearing went bad

Not to discourage, but I believe BD43 has done a good write up of the process. Even though I was installing the tapered bearings, I used the factory method of torque'ing the stem, then backing it off and re-torque'ing to slightly lower amount (don't have specs with me). I believe this is a...

FZ6 Steering head bearing went bad

There is a real seal at the top and bottom of the stem. I changed my bearings to All-Balls and while I didn't have any corrosion issues, my interpretation of the problem was two fold: The seals are attemping to mate to a surface on the frame and since our frame is made up from two halves...

    Fz6 Axel/Bearing Wine?

Just a quick follow up. I picked up a nail in that rear PR2 after about 500 miles. Anyway, new PR2 installed. It's made in Taiwan like my first PR2, and born only a week after previous tire, but no road noise on this one. Never spotted any defects or had any reason to suspect first...
