I didn't notice the color difference as much as you did, I guess for me it wasn't a huge problem. I installed my during the late winter/spring months, so I didn't notice the sporty feeling loss.
I just removed mine recently and WOW what a difference in the handling. I really like stock so much...
So the issue isn't a Yamaha problem, but instead it's an issue on Dynojet's side of things? Wonder if they have any solutions or if we can even prove it's their system causing the problem. Has anyone tested this theory (i.e. produced the issue with the PC, removed it, and then retested under...
Everyone, I know this is a very old thread, but hey it beats opening a new one up for the SAME thing.
Bike:
2008 FZ6, LeoVince Exhaust, Modified Airbox, K&N drop in filter
Anyway, now that's out of the way, here's the scenario: Ambient temperatures were about 105*F or so. The bike maintained...
I'm still waiting on the e-mail with the graph included, but I have the print out I might have to scan and upload.
Anyway, during the initial dyno run I pulled 88.27 HP (no TQ indicated) using the OTS map for my setup, and then after tuning I'm pulling 88.14 HP and 41.72 TQ. My current mods...
Thanks guys! It isn't something that is brought up much on the internet beings I don't have the opportunity to really meet any of you. Don't let what's mentioned above stop you from being a critic though, as I always welcome good advice. I may have a reason for the things I do, but on the other...
Chaotic, I'm short coming in at about 5' 6".
Erci,
Completely understand and agree with your advice towards the average person. Unfortunately, contrary to popular belief of everyone having 5, I only have 4 fingers which puts a nice spin on things. As I was born without thumbs, one of the...
A group of us in the northern Utah area have started a tradition of doing a weekly group ride on Sundays. Along the way back someone decided to take some rolling shot of some of the bikes.
The first one is kind of terrible, but the second one is actually pretty good. Not bad for a passenger...
I just wanted to follow up on this. I know it's been awhile and I appreciate all the helpful suggestions. I'm pretty sure it's most likely being caused by the brakes. I tested a free spin and I'd say it's maybe just over 1 full rotation. I also test drove it without ever using the front brakes...
Townsend, Excellent advice. I did pull the pads off and scuffed them up. I also applied a synthetic grease to the back of each pad as well. I'll have to check the rotation, but the wheel does free spin pretty easily - I did try free spinning the wheel and while I can hear a slight noise free...
I recently went on a large cruise with Adrenaline Motorsports (based out of Bountiful), and we hit up Trapper's Loop. Very fun ride!
I was hoping East Canyon would be open up, but it 's still closed as of last weekend. I honestly was thinking of squeezing through the gate myself, but thought...
Unfortunately no engine guards. I tried greasing the axle to no avail. Any other ideas? It's a very faint squeal, but it is definitely there... I'll play with it tomorrow a bit more and see where it ends up.
Alrighty, so I'm trying to figure out what could possibly make a squealing noise from the front end... I'm not sure how long it's been going on for, so there are no immediately changes to link it to. The only reason I noticed this is I had my faceshield lifted up half-way and could hear the...
You'd probably be better off selling your current headlights (to me!) and getting a new projector/ballast.
That way you can find one that better matches your new headlight (and you'll want to get one that is dual beam in one headlight).
I'm running a Bell RS1 with a transition visor on it - no glasses required! I'd have to say it is super light weight, has excellent airflow, and is worth every penny. The transition lens itself sets you back ~$100 USD on top of the $200-300 for the lid, but given the example you've provided and...
I just wanted to note that after reading up on this I decided to go out and buy the book :). There aren't any classes close enough to me unfortunately, so the book will have to do. If you guys plan to do a trip to Utah sometime, definitely let me know!
Well I'm at just about 175 miles and I have to say I'm very impressed. I'm by no means a hardcore riding like some of the other folks on here, but these tires inspire so much confidence in how well they handle.
I had an opportunity to finally take them through some twisties ~20 miles or so...
I thought mine had to be cut short too, but after looking over how much I took off and the bar ends, the excess in theory should not have caused any problems.
OP actually mentioned the new tires made it easier to turn in, so I'm not sure that would be necessary. I don't know what you mean by "lowering" exactly, but from what I understanding going with a small series (lower profile) tire would actually cause it to be slightly more difficult to steer...
