Painted and installed. Got the inner fairings on finally too. i'm loving my FZ being done finally!

I used some hardening putty for the dent and a can of clear coat off the shelf. I did it on the cheap...but it turned out better than I expected. I'm actually considering a matte finish now...for all the painted pieces...

My journey to restoring the battered 2007 FZ6 I purchased earlier this summer is almost over. Got a tank from a dealer in Cali...had a few dings but the price was right. Got some work done on it today...

Cooler air is more oxygen dense. So the quick answer is yes...cooler air will bring some extra oomph to the engine. There are other factors that come into play tho...that can work for u or against u. So I'm generally speaking of course.

Yeah...and ultimate the cost to do all that might be not worth it...

If it is leaking...isn't that a sign the internal wall was punctured too? I was under impression that the tank is toast at that point?

Im almost done with getting my 07 fz6 back to mint when today...surprise!...I noticed the tank has a soft spot on the left side where it was apparently patched with bondo... And bigger surprise...it was damp with gasoline. (it got worse as night went on too). I found a minor dinged up 06...

If the steering head bearings are bad...what should I expect to pay to have them replaced...parts/labor?

Ok...i saw a video on youtube showing the steering bounce test to see if you have bad steering head bearings. One of my sides bounces. 8-( (assuming that is legit method) How much should I expect to pay for the steering head bearings to be replaced if they are bad?

Hey ya'll... A few of you have been very helpful in other threads. I want to make sure I'm as informed as possible before taking my bike in this week. I have a slight shimmy at 35-45. It is occasionally above 50. At the lower speeds...it feels like a gentle left/right wobble at times...

I'm also wondering if the brand of tire they put on is one of the problems (aside from the dumbos at the shop messing everything else up) It was a few bucks cheaper (not much) but they sold me a brand called 'Vee Rubber'. I'm more of a weekend/hobby rider...and the tires coming off were...

What confuses me is things were perfectly smooth prior to changing tires. Bearings go out that fast?

Well...i got my bike back today. Rear brake is working again thankfully. The high speed balance seemed to have worked...but at moderate speeds...i feel a slight wobble effect. I'm thinking because of the tape weights that are not in the center of the rim, but more toward the outside...
