I was leaning heavy to the Z1000 too. That and the FZ09, Triumph Speed Triple etc....I REALLY like naked bikes (hence why I "streetfightered" my FZ6), but as a commuter, and someone who wants to go on longer more comfortable rides, they seemed more style over function. So I switched factions...
Thanks guys! Unfortunately the weather here in the North East isn't quite cooperating with me, and winter is delaying my riding! :banghead: Nothing worse than a new toy you can't play with!
Last week I said goodbye to my 2007 FZ6, after three years it looked completely different from when I had first gotten it, all because some people on here gave me lots of awful, expensive ideas....lol jk
But time to move on, got a 2012 Ninja 1000. Going with pretty much the opposite of what...
Hmm, I'll have to look into that as an option. Fabrication isn't my song suit but if I have to it doesn't look too bad. I'll try a bolt on option first, that'll be my backup!
As far as top cases go, maybe down the line. I'm not looking for a ton of storage at the moment, and I think the side cases look better. But the mounting bracket might be an issue. I seem to remember the M4 slip-ons coming with some type of bracket replacement. I'll have to take it apart a bit...
Hello FZ6'ers, been awhile since I've been on here.
So, I've tried for a few years not having hard luggage, originally thinking I'll never want it or need it. But now that I've ridden for the amount of time I have.....I want it. The convenience, the security of it is just too much to pass up...
Everything that is needed comes with the kit. I also got mine from him, came with everything necessary to install the whole package. That and some of the leftover parts from the stock unit are used as well (wiring etc) good luck....
Pics when you're done!
I love my FZ6N....under 80ish mph, its so nice. The wind has no buffeting and is nice and smooth. Also looks badass. Although...took my first long trip this weekend, did 1200 miles in VT, NH, NY, NJ. And the highway at higher speeds (over long periods of time) isn't the best....."higher" being...
I have a Top Saddlery seat, and the quality is top notch. So I would assume the tank cover would be the same. Can't really tell you much about the actual product though, other than its from France :D
And you can build stuff on their website....I'm pretty sure they have a bunch of colors for the...
I was concerned about that as well, but I've been in the rain multiple times, both moving and it getting rained on in the driveway. I used dielectric grease on all the connections to water proof it. There were other more long lasting methods to use (have to reapply the grease every couple years...
Don't worry all! He got a new Versys yesterday...almost exactly the same. Just with all the mods he wanted to do. All is good......as long as you have theft insurance! :D
Yea he did...other than lo jack. Nothing would have really helped, (other than deter them) they just picked it up into a pickup or flatbed and took off.
So my friends Kawasaki Versys was stolen from his office building parking lot yesterday in Parssipany NJ. He just started riding this year...only had the bike for a few months.
......riding buddy down....gotta ride alone lol
Sad day tho :(
I'd sell em separately. Lots of people just looking for used aftermarket slip ons, and you never know with stock parts. Someone might just need a stock piece, but probably not together with the slip ons.
