CL says $3750, but only asking $3500 to MC forum ppl, which is just more than what I owe. Love this bike, but with an another kid now I need a decent car more than this at the moment and would really like to get rid of my payment.

I wave to everyone too, but it means different things.
If it is a scooter rider or bicyclist it means, "Cool, at least you are out riding!" If it is another motorcyclist who waves back, it means "Hey fellow rider, keep the shiny side up!"
If it is some harley dude with no gear who is too...
Thinking about finally making the plunge on this. Just made my first commute in full gear including pants and boots. I used to just strap my crummy jacket on the back of the bike with a bungee net and forget about it. There are camera's in the lot, so I usually figured the random idiot or wino...
Um, dude.... The Greeks held the first Olympics.
The Romans (Italy) invented hot tubs though, so I still give them mad props.
And I sure like my FZ6...
When breaking in a new bike, look at all the silvery metal in the oil at 100mi and tell me you want that crud floating around in the motor for another 500 miles. Even if you change at 100, you'll still see some (but much less) at 600mi which is a good reason to change it again then. Other than...
There are different opinions on brwak-in procedures with varying logic. One thing I think everyone should be able to agree to do different than the manual is DO NOT WAIT until 600mi for the first oil/filter change. Make the first change about 90-100mi and see how much silver tint it already has...
If I had it to do over again, I would change oil/filter much sooner than recommended, and probably make the 600mi change my third on the bike one at 50 miles, and one at 300miles. If yamaha thinks silvery oil (from metal particles) is a good idea running around in that motor for 600mi, they are...
#1.) Cheapo MAX helmet bought for the MSF course till I figured out what I really wanted. Not bad comfort, but noisy at speed, next to no venting, and the build quality was suspect with uneven gaps between liner/shell and sometimes hard to lift the visor due to clearance over the vents. $35 new...
Yep, I had already pored over the calsci stuff. That's what made me head to the Shell Rotella. Actually learned enough about oil to talk to some of my Jeep buddies about + and - of various oils.
Anyone have the factory tail bag or panniers. From Yamaha web site it says they are for 04-06 and does not mention 07. I have the factory tank bag, and it said 04-07 on the website.
Is there something in the seat that is so different from 06 to 07 as to not be able to use the tailbag? I like...
Rolled past 600mi on my 07, so I changed oil/filter and filled up with Rotella T 5w40. HUGE difference. Overall, much quieter running at all RPMs, it was a little disconcerting at first since I had less feedback as to rpms. Also much smoother, especially from 7-8k where I used to be unable to...
For sticker removal I always use the stuff I used for same purpose at work a long time. Called Un-Du, and it come swith its own plastic scraper to use at the same time you put stuff under the edge of the sticker. Used to remove the hard-to-get-off corporate asset tags, and never left a scratch...
frame?
Do those saddle bags and similar ones use any kind of frame to mount on, or are they just hanging down off the middle? Do they get close to the exhaust sides? Would it fit a good-sized laptop computer?
I would like to ditch the computer backpack i wear for my commute, but I don't...
I worked at a computer refurbisher a few years back and for sticker removal the best thing we had was called Un-Du.
You can get it on ebay if nowhere else. The bottle should have its own plastic scraper as shown, otherwise a credit card should work. It's never damaged any paint or plastic...
After negotiating price with the dealer, I talked to their finance ppl. They declined me on the Yamaha card (you don't pay down the balance at all, but I did want a year of $69 payments) and declined me on their standard yamaha financing at 9%.
Talked to my credit union, and got a 6.7% rate...
Dealer here in MN, quoted me $5999+tax/title for an 07 (basically $150 over invoice from what I saw on this thread) with no other fees. Finishing up my MSF this weekend (after not riding for 15yrs it seemed like a good idea) and provided I pass and all, I'm picking it up next week.
Nice to...
holdbacks?
Is there anything like car dealer's holdbacks on Bikes? On cars the dealer gets around 3% (depending on the mfr) to cover costs of keeping the car safe, clean, advertising, etc while it is on the dealer lot.
I have gotten a great deal couple times, waiting for one to come off a...
