How much have you spent servicing your bike at the dealership?

Never gone back to the dealer. I do all the maintenance myself except tires, and I found a local shop that changed my tires for about half what the dealer wanted.

    Got a New Lid Today

Nice. I really like the sun visor. I've got a Scorpion EXO 400 and I love it. Most comfortable helmet I've ever owned.

    What was your first motocycle?

In 1977 I bought a Honda CB125. Great little bike to learn on.

    FZ6 Fuel Economy

I get 46 mpg everytime. I accelerate hard from stops, but cruise in 6th if I'm going over 40 mph.

    Tribute to a lost friend

I just learned today that a good friend and colleague in California died on Christmas from injuries sustained in a head-on collision with another bike on Christmas Eve. He was riding in the hills around LA, and the other guy drifted over the line in a tight turn. It's another reminder to...

    Opinions and Thoughts Requested

+1 Well said. Law suits like this make everything cost more for all of us. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. Aside from that, sh*t happens, and it isn't right to make honest companies pay for someone's misfortune just because they have the deep pockets. This problem...

    Cover for FZ6...

+1 The FZ6 cover from Yamaha is a perfect fit, and well made. It's a little on the pricey side, but I think it was worth it and plan to get another if mine ever wears out.

    New FZ6R or FZ6??

Bison....yeah, that's a good name. I like it. I think it's a good looking bike. I like the front-heavy look, and I like the nick name, "Bison". I think the FZ6 needs a cool nick name, like they give aircraft: F-4 Phantom F-22 Raptor F-15 Eagle FZ6R Bison Yeah, I like it. But I...

    The Frame Itself

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry it happend. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do. The pics of your foot are killer. Hope eveything heals back to 100%. That's what counts. Bikes can be fixed or replaced. Best of luck to you. Hang in there.

    Centerstand Removal Problem

I think you guys are nuts. The centerstand is one of the greatest things about the FZ6. Lubing your chain without it is a pain in the a$$. As far as improving the bike's looks, good engineering is a beautiful thing, and that side stand is a beautiful piece of engineering.

    Split the difference

Lane splitting is idiotic. One thing you don't expect when you're in a car stuck on the freeway, is some idiot to zip by within a foot of your mirror at 30 mph. I hope they are watching out for me to open my door and spit on the ground, cause I'm not watching out for them to zip by me...

What's the best summer/fall protective jacket thats cheap? ($150 or under)

I have a Tour Master Intake jacket. I think it's great, although my daughter says I look like a power ranger in my jacket and helmet. But, making you visible is also and important feature of the jacket.

    So I went down today....

Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad to hear you're OK. I've been down twice in very similar circumstances (no sliders - earlier bikes: 650 Special, and 750 Maxim). Lots of scratches and minor damage to the bikes. My FZ6 has frame sliders.

Convince me to buy an FZ6!

FZ6 is just an awesome all-around bike. You should definitely get one, but I'd shy away from that questionable blue color. Red is the only way to go in an '07.
