Low speed knocking and play in side stand.

Low speed knocking was most likely just chain slap. What gear/RPM were you at? at low RPM's the stream of power from the motor is not as consistent as is at higher RPM's which can cause chain slap. Also may have happened because of the over tightened chain. good luck.

    Your favorite mod?

Alright, so far i can figure on a few mods I will do. Head light, suspension, air box, windscreen, maybe a seat, Handlebars, and exhaust. Order will most likely depend on how the bike works for me and how much money I can scrap together to start upgrading, lol. After these are done I can start...

    Your favorite mod?

Sounds pretty loud(can't really tell from computer though)...but nice. As far as my experience goes(not much, more like what i have heard) loud exhausts just bring more attention to you, as in police attention. Does any company make an exhaust for the FZ6 that is not going to get me arrested...

Weird question, but bear with me

I am not completely positive but here is my logic. All bars are 7/8" diameter whether they are clip on, handle bar, what have you. similarly the R6, R1, FZ1, and FZ6 bars should all be made by Yamaha or the same company who produces them for Yamaha. so, Check the part number for OEM bar ends...

    Your favorite mod?

Thank you for all of the info. All very helpful and interesting options. I'm guessing that the BD43 mod is a different wiring harness from another bike...info please? I will definitely be doing a fork mod/upgrade of some sort, even riding around town on the bike I have felt the sponginess in the...

    Your favorite mod?

It is interesting in the two different mentalities about forks on the fz6. Some say that modifying the stock fork is the best bet while many others swear by swapping to an R6 fork. Which is better and why? Race Tech Fork Emulator = $170 Race Tech Fork Springs = $110 Bottle of Race Tech...

    Your favorite mod?

Thanks for the info. A family friend of ours is actually an MSF instructor so I will most likely be attending a course. Also, mechanical difficulty is not an issue as I am lucky enough to have a factory yamaha trained motorcycle mechanic for a father and and access to a shop.

    Your favorite mod?

Hi. I will be acquiring a 2004 fz6 this year and am looking foward to doing a few mods to it, You all seem to have done some nice upgrades. The bike is bone stock except for a Yamaha lower cowl kit. I plan to keep the fairing on the bike for some wind protection (sorry naked crowd!) but am...
