+1 for the cycling shorts. I also went to Ikea and got a little sheepskin for $30 bucks, cut a chunk to fit the seat, and used double-sided tape to hold it in place. Cheap and cheerful and you can get at least 2 "seat pads" out of one of those sheepskins. Good luck!
Yeah... good bump! I lost both of the bolts that hold down the front of the gas tank, when I did my long trip a couple of months ago. Didn't even notice until I started hearing a strange rattle every time I went over a bump. It was, of course, my tank bouncing up and down... Needless to say...
Welcome to the site! :cheer: Great to see another gal out there! Can't say I've ever had the heat problem, which is interesting because I'm the same height (5'8"). In fact, I'm normally using the engine heat to warm up my hands when I'm stopped at a light - lol
I used a set of Motopak saddlebags and tailbag on a recent 2-week trip. I have nothing but good things to say about them... very durable, expandable, lots of attachment options, etc. This is how they look on the bike (keep in mind this is with the saddlebags almost fully expanded...)
Cheers!
I'm also missing two of the bolts on my mirrors... the best part is that they CHARGE YOU MONEY for PDI... I would like my $250 back, thank you, a$$hats.
Saw a guy in Kamloops last summer on a cruiser... shorts and NO SHIRT... that should be illegal... eewwww.... man boobs.... :(
He was wearing a salad-bowl helmet though! Safety first!
12000 km round trip, eh? Heck Alex, you could knock that out in a long weekend... Might I suggest a "comfort seat" and a throttle lock?
Wow...
You know... I once lost a contact on the first day of a three-day sailing trip, and just wore the one lens for the rest of the weekend. By the beginning of the second day, my eyes/brain had somehow adjusted and I could see perfectly... (unless I covered up my "good" eye, of course). So I say -...
Re: Milage Contest!
Yeah wait a minute... we need to make this contest retroactive to last month!!! :( I've put on 6000 km in the last 25 days!
I'm pretty sure Yukon Alex would be a very close second...
Oh well... time to start planning the next trip.... victory WILL be...
