This is sad, I was just about to purchase a set of PR3's but will have to wait til some light is shed on this situation. If it takes to long for Michelin to respond I might have to go with another brand...
I'm sorry this happened to you but thank you for making us aware, and lawyer up!
I realize this is an old thread but I wanted to update it since I finally fixed the flashing gas meeter! The problem was the wire adapter on the back of the instrument cluster wasn't set properly and was working it's way loose. I found this out from a recent trip where my whole instrument...
I took it apart last night and found the wire adapter on the back of the cluster slipped out when I pulled the fairing off. Looks like it wasn't set properly. Put it back together, making sure to set the adapter clip, and so far so good. That went a lot better than expected
I just finished a West Virginia trip and ran into issues with my instrument cluster on an 07 FZ6. The issue I had was while riding the entire display goes off and if I tap it or apply pressure to the LCD portion it goes through it's diagnostic and comes back on. I also had the oil light come...
Yeah, FZ6 riders in MI!!! And I agree about Shawmut Hills, they are the biggest that I know of in the area. However, I personally haven't had the best experience with them and go to Performance Motorsports out of Holland, but seeing as I live in Jenison it is a little closer for me.
Rock on...
Any reason that you didn't go through easy-motorcycle.com? Just wondering cause I'm seriously thinking about this mod and it appears to be cheaper (unless I'm missing shipping) than ebay.
Also, did they sell you a set of one H4 and one H7 or are you going to try the modded H7 approach?
Well I messed around with the PC3 and did a firmware update which froze in the middle so my bike wouldn't run (I tinker and then break things, it's how I role):( So I pulled off the PC3 to send it in for reprogramming and I feel a slight difference in the response on the bike. It could be just...
Well, I pulled the tank when the gauge was flashing and moved the wire connection under the tank and it came back on, so I think problem solved. Actually, the bike came with an installed PC3 and the additional wire clips were right next to the gas sensor wire so I think they kind of crimped it...
I've looked through the forum and noticed that people were having this problem of the fuel meter flashing 8 times and then turning off and repeating. I just bought this bike tonight and I'm trying to diagnose the issue but the weird thing is it only does it once in a while. It will work fine...
As far as I know the bike has factory exhaust and air intake. But I haven't had my laptop hooked up yet to see what it is set too. That will be one of my first tasks.
I uploaded a pic of the commander and the bike, still psyched!!!
I was waiting for somebody to post that :) Thanks for all of the information, I think I'm going to do some research on the PC III website and then ride it for a while with it on and take it off to see if I can tell a difference.
Hello all, I'm new to the forum and even newer to owning an FZ6. I just bought a red 07 FZ6 and it came with a Power Commander III installed. I'm just a little psyched:Flash: The thing I don't know is does the FZ6 really need the PC III and if so why? I haven't looked at the mapping yet but...
