I picked up a pair of these quarter chaps at a motorcycle show, and they're great! They're not so bulky and clumsy as chaps but they keep the rain and cold wind off my legs. They're easy to get on and off and they're easy to stow when I'm not wearing them.

I just replaced the original air filter in my '05 FZ6 with a K&N filter. I went with the K&N simply because I couldn't find a standard aftermarket filter that would fit. I figured that if filters are hard to find now, it will only be harder next time. The K&N was only a little more $$ than an...
Not exactly motorcycle gear, but tuning up my old bicycle brought back memories. Cycling shoes :(
To fit in with other riders with their silly shorts and Pompadour helmets I felt I had to have the fancy shoes too. Painful to ride with, impossible to walk... (CLACK CLACK CLACK!). I do well...
It's nice that they DO have the show in January. It's our motorcycle therapy to get us through the winter. If it was held in spring or summer nobody would come -- we're out riding!

I watch for minivans pulling into the next space after I've parked the bike, and hang around for a moment until the mom has corralled the kiddies and led them away.
I try to avoid parking close by where there are swarms of kids. But I can't watch the bike all the time. Parents have to take...
I wouldn't. Either the Plasti-dip wouldn't bond with the helmet plastic and would flake off and look like crap, or it would chemically bond and possibly weaken the helmet.
I currently have three helmets with internal drop-down shades. I wear prescription glasses, and the flip-down shades are so convenient. I wouldn't want to wear prescription transition glasses all day long.
The first is a HJC IS-33 3/4 helmet I wear mostly when riding a scooter. Not the...
A weak link in the chain...
A former employer of mine kept a big dog chained up in front of his shop.
The chain was a cheap, lightweight wire chain, patched in several places with nuts & bolts, copper wire, baling wire, etc.
It was clear that if the dog got riled up -- and he did if...
Gee, I'm going to miss my Burgman! Under the seat I can carry all the papers and tools I want, plus two grocery bags, and an extra bag and bungees if I pick up more stuff along the way. I guess junk expands to fill the available space.
What are the bare essentials, and how do you guys carry...
I ride in the same Red Wing work boots I wear all day long. They're the most comfortable shoes I've ever had and as far as I can tell they're good for riding, too. One boot has a scuffed-up eyelet to prove that they offer pretty good protection in a slow-speed fall.
In my opinion, an...
