A weak link in the chain...

Yeah I have to dogs who don't let people get within 100 meters of the place before they go bonkers.
The best they deterrent yet.

A former employer of mine kept a big dog chained up in front of his shop.

The chain was a cheap, lightweight wire chain, patched in several places with nuts & bolts, copper wire, baling wire, etc.

It was clear that if the dog got riled up -- and he did if strangers approached -- he could easily break that chain again.

JK! Best bike security TBH is to own a bike nobody wants (i'm full of it today as it turns out).

But on a serious note, all i've ever used was the steering lock. Although I guess I do live in the boonies... Although at my old workplace they had a specific parking spot for motorcycles and the lot was under surveillance. At school in the city they also have the lot under surveillance. When I go other public places I usually park where I can see my bike from inside, or where I know they have cameras, so if something DOES happen I can find the person and get my bike back or get damage repaired from the "sitting enthusiast".
