Yamaha Virago 250 (I think XV250 is the model). Little cruiser, great to learn on and I remember it being very good fun. Until I did a long trip on it wearing a heavy back pack
After that I got a Suzuki bandit 600 and never looked back at a cruiser since.
My manual (also Australian) says every 10000 kms. I assume FrozenBiker is talking in miles, not kms.
I have always preferred to service my bikes every 6000 kms or at least once a year if not using it much.
To keep things healthy and safe, I also like to have the cables lubed/adjusted...
Sorry to hear about your stack.
This post is interesting because just recently another user posted about being worried about getting lube on the tire. What sort of lube were you using and roughly how much actually went on the tire?
A good solution to this is to cut a piece of a cardboard...
Yeah I guess I should have phrased my post better. I wouldn't be literally thinking about nothing else aside from wrecking myself. But at least a few times on every ride, these are healthy thoughts to have.
There will be a few times early in your riding where you will want to push some boundaries.
It is a very good thing to keep those thoughts in the front of your mind when you ride: "what if I hit the road at this speed?"... "what if there's a broken down vehicle around that bend?" ... "what if...
The Video Pass is really good. You get to see all the practice sessions, interviews etc. and the coverage is so much better than the extra crap they put on free to air TV. No ads. More authentic.
Get it!
Also I should mention... what a race!
Woohoo! Been looking forward to this for months!
Interesting to see a Ducati in the top 5.
Will also be interesting to see how Marquez goes come race day.
I highly recommend ear plugs to cut down the wind noise. You will be a lot less tired at the end of a long ride. I personally don't want to listen to music while I ride because I ride to be as much in the elements as possible, but ear plugs are a must.
In terms of riding in the rain, I use a...
Try shining a torch directly under the reservoir and you should be able to see the level. As for the master cylinder on the handle bar I can't see the fluid in mine either.
Hmmmm... I wonder how the riders feel about this. I can imagine more accidents in the qualifying sessions due to riders trying to go hard straight away with only 15 minutes of qualifying time... They should have made it 20 or 30 minutes.
Still, this format will increase the entertainment for...
Congrats! Best to replace both tyres at the same time if they are fairly old anyway. FYI, I am very happy with the Pirelli Angel tyres I have on my FZ.
I don't think a bit of chain lube on the tyre is a major issue, especially I think if you're not going straight out onto wet roads. I've had a bit of lube on my tyre plenty of times and never had any problems.
To avoid this happening though, use a long bit of cardboard as a shield between...
