    Thicker Grips

bmccrary - thanks for that recommendation! I too, have wanted thicker grips and hate grip puppies. Seems these guys are local to me too, so I'll have to drop 'em an e-mail and check 'em out. Too bad their website is terrible. Looks like you have their "mountain" grips. Know anything...

    A silly thought...

A helmet wouldn't stop a bullet... if it hit at an angle, it MIGHT deflect it however. But I sure wouldn't be trading in a kevlar helmet for a motorcycle helmet, that's for sure.

    Most Important Touring Mods?

+100 to all of the various suggestions. I'm a big fan of hydration packs as well. Helps me to stay hydrated while riding through the Midwest summer heat. I sneak in a sip every now and then.

    Ohlin Shock Comparison

Hi all... been looking into shock replacements, not necessarily for the purpose of enhancing performance, but to lower the FZ6. In doing some research, I found hardracing.com via Hellgate's Ohlin post, and noticed that along with the YA723 46HRC model he purchased, it seems that another model...

40 ft-lbs, if I recall correctly. Better yet, grab the service manual here: http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-technical/320-2004-through-2007-manuals-download-here-5.html#post46410

    Eyewear?

I've always worn clear visors with sunglasses underneath. Usually I wear Wiley-X's which are ANSI rated safety glasses, used heavily by the military.

    Wisconsin Riders

There's a number of different possibilities. If you have a new FZ6, it'll vibrate more but settle down after its break-in period and an oil change or two. Second, well, bikes just vibrate and its something you get used to/build a tolerance for. Third, if you cannot flex your hands freely in...
