I hate earthquakes!

We just had an earthquake right now....the rolling kind, that lasted for about 20 seconds. Man, I really really hate earthquakes....I get that sick feeling! Ya know.....a "pre drill" for "the big one" is supposed to hit in November, starting here at the Salton Sea....but when the big one hits, we're gonna be floating in the ocean....OR the desert ground is gonna be like quicksand and we're gonna be sucked in!!!! Either way, we're gonna die!

My wife works in one of the skyscrapers in downtown L.A.
She's on 40th floor and said the entire building "jumped" up and down. So far they're awaiting future announcements. No one is to use elevators, but security wants to keep eveyrone inside. I say screw that. It's her life and choice to leave the building. Let me call her again.

we have quakes in NH all the time, just little itty bity ones, i think the largest we have ever had (Recorded) is like a 3 or something. but regardless, those things freak me out and i will stay 3000 miles away from them, thank you very much...

This is true. New England actually has the most per year period, but nearly all of them go unnoticed because they are so insignificant. We usually attribute them to "one to many...." :iconbeer:

I hope none of our L.A. friends are hurt. It sounded pretty violent and lasted for 30 seconds. I called Danny's mom and Grandma to make sure they were ok, as they are in Pomona & Chino Hills.

Can't say I've ever experienced an earthquake. I bet it would be weird if you were riding on a motorcycle in an area where one happened.

Everyone was evacuated outside and a few people laughed as I walked to my bike to give her a big hug and apologize for not running to her when it happened.

I kinda feel safer moving from Tornado alley, where we get vicous thunderstroms every spring and summer. Only been in one small tornado, but one to many. Even if there is no tornado, the winds can be strong enough to up root trees.

Moving to a place with earthquakes feels safter to me. We had a 5.3 here in Illinois a couple months ago, it was enough to wake me from my sleep at 430 am.
