hey guys brand new here and looking to get a bike. just wanna find a dealer who is willing to work with me on the all the prep fee's and the actual price. i see 6999 listed most places but have heard other people say they have gotten them for like 6500 otd.

i am pretty much located in boston but will drive to ma, ri, ct, nh, etc etc to pick up my new ride so if you know of a dealer that is giving a good deal on the 08 fz6 then post it up it is much appreciated. can't wait to finally get one i am super pumped

cool, i will take all this ammo and bring it with me... i got a nice yamaha dealer near me... brockton cycle center but they are usually very firm on prices. i will hopefully explain to them that i don't want to drive to nh to pick up a bike so if they can come close to the same price then i will just buy it there.

got a question about these otd prices. does that include sales tax or not... i think i got two prices that are pretty much the same one includes sales tax and the other doesn't. of coarse the dealers aren't open on sunday so i can't call up and ask.

My OTD price was $6300 that's including tax on a 07 last October. I bought mine at Abernathy's out of Union City Tennessee but thats a hell of a ride for you:thumbup:

We don't have tax in NH so that is the full price before registering. Your price will be different and should you come to NH to buy it, you'll be charged the tax when you go to register in MA I believe. Good luck!

yea i can't get around the sales tax i am paying it one way or another but i think a dealer gave me a price including sales tax and i didn't realize it which makes his price pretty reasonable.

There's a used 06' FZ6 at naults in Salem, NH. It's blue, i think it only had something like 900 miles on it. I think there was also an 07' down there... not sure the color, they were both in the 5k range.

well as much as i would like to get a bike for a steal of a price it just won't happen.

if anybody wants a left over 06 i know a place letting them for for 5700 otd which was tempting but i really want the raven black one.

cheapest price i got was 6775otd but that was like 2.5 hours away so the gas to get it and stuff plus having to register and insure the bike would have been a pain so i am going to opt for a local dealer that will sell it for 6900otd i figure i would have wasted at least that in gas.

should hopefully be a great day tommorow. fill out the paperwork for bike and hopefully pick it up, get a round of golf in, then top it off with great red sox tickets at night.

Congratulations on the purchase. Sounds like you've got a great day planned, enjoy. I'm going to work, and it's going to suck. I'm over in Lakeville, let me know when you're ready to ride and we can meet up.

If you can get the bike for less than MSRP OTD, you're doing well, especially with the gas prices. I'm surprised you can get one for LESS than MSRP! I hope all goes well for you! Go Sox!!!

You MA folks down by the Cape... do any of you go to King Richards Faire?

Congratz!!!!

I bought my 05 FZ6 from Brockton Cycle for $4899 in Jan 07, I thought that was a great deal considering there was only 1,800 miles and already a fender eliminator, and it was more upright than my ZX6. I live about 1.5 hours from there, but we order parts from them all the time because the staff is awesome. My husband has a Kawi ZZR1200 so it is perfect for us. We brought his bike to the Wareham Cycle for a carb/jet cleaning and oil change etc, they were great, and they are owned by the same people! I am about to order a Puig Racing Screen at FZ6inNH's recommendation and CanadianFZ6 input on the forums. Already have the comfort seat, it is much nicer than the stock seat. Thinking about the Pazzo shorties but not sure yet. . . well anyway, ENJOY!

My son has gone, and he enjoyed it, but I have not been.

Try to find an new 2007. Here is some help with pricing, I got mine before tax for $5971.00. If a dealer has an 2007 they want to move it now.

Dealer Invoice Report

2007 FZ6

List Price: $6849

Dealer Invoice: $5901
Dealer invoice price includes $216 freight charge for shipping from the manufacturer to the dealership.

Assembly Cost: $50 per Yamaha pricesheet
Each dealership has its own method of figuring actual cost of assembly and preparation for sale.
There is no reimbursement by the factory for this cost to the dealer.

Ready to sell cost: $5951

This model Yamaha has 3% (of list price) dealer holdback.
This holdback money is paid to dealers in at the end of the model year for units that are sold within the previous 12 months. Dealers must pay Yamaha the full "Dealer Invoice" price and wait up to 12 months after selling the machine to receive their dealer holdback.

Wholesale Incentives: none at this time

Retail Incentives: none at this time

The "Ready to sell cost" is the cost of the machine with NO PROFIT to a dealer. Dealers do not stay in business very long by selling machines for no profit.

Many dealers charge additional fees for "Freight and Setup" over and above the selling price of the machine. Add the "Selling Price" to the "Freight and Setup" charges and subtract the "Ready to sell cost" to determine the PROFIT a dealer is asking to make.

brockton won't see a dime of my money... had the same problem with them when i tried to buy a bike a couple years ago and the same problem with there parts dept. on numerous occaisions they just sell special order parts right behind your back. they will refund your money but that isn't the point. as far as wareham goes i like the guys that work there and ride with a couple of them they just don't sell yamaha.

it is just this attitude that alot of dealers have that i hate. i know it is kinda what you gotta do since they get so many kids and tirekickers in there wasting there time they almost don't believe anybody when they say they are a serious buyer anymore. either way i bought a bike yesterday and got it registered and insured today and i will be picking it up tommorow. i would rather pay a little more then give my money to bcc.

i can tell you one thing the guys at freedom cycle in nh were absolutely awesome it is just a shame they couldn't come down more on the price they were cheaper but it is just so far away from me they would have to be really competitive for me to make that drive.,
