Yes, I decided to drill my exhaust after days of going back and forth. Was the $16 bit worth it? Absolutely.

I went with the "get the hole as big as you can" strategy. I drilled two 1/2" holes right next to each other and then around the edges of the holes as much as possible.

It sounds good. I don't get any rasp. It's not very loud, but I'd rather it be somewhat quiet and smooth, which is it, than loud and raspy.

Eventually, I'll get my Scorpions. In the mean time, at least I can hear something other than my sewing machine.

Thanks to all who have contributed to the exhaust discussions. This forum has been great in the first three month I've owned the bike.

I like the sewing machine thing.
Got tinnitus in my ears.
Screaming high pitched sound,
24X7.365 NEVER STOPS!
I won't hear silence till I die.
Some folks kill themselves.
Take care of your ears.
Use protection.All kinds.
To many hot rounds with no muffs when young.
Drove noisy roarin' Azz trucks for 45 years.
Trying to keep what hearing I have.
Makes me :D when some 600 with cans
Rips from the stop sign and,
goes through the gears though.

That's almost poetic, but in a awesome sort of way

I'm with you Wildcat. Tinnitus is a bitch! Rustling leaves, gentile breezes, soft running water, all gone. I too love my "sewing machine" All it took for me was a .32 ACP about 30 rnds. I thought it's only a 32! My tombstone will say "learned everything the hard way"

.357 Mag.here. 4 inch barrel.
Hot hand loads out the window of a 4-wheeler.
An extra half grain of WW-296 won't hurt.
Had to use a drift pin to knock the cases out of the cylinder.
Glad it was a Ruger.
You'd think I would have stopped after the first 6.
Nooo!!Stupid me burnt 150 rounds!:spank:
Didn't want to get out in 2 feet of snow.
Forgot my muffs.
Didn't hear anything for 3 days.
That was 40 years ago.
Can't enjoy music.:(
Sure miss my Bluegrass and Rock.
Break your arm,it heals,break your leg,it heals.
Protect your ears.
They don't heal.

To hear the breeze,
Sighing
trough the trees,,,
Never more,
Never more.
:shakehead:
