agf,
very nice, how did you take them?

Man I wish that I had taken them, they came to me as an email some time ago and I know that many forum members are in the armed forces in the US or have a keen interest in aviation and/or photography, like Humpy here in Australia, so I have been trying to take them from being embedded in the email and find a way to share, hence the many failed attempts to post.

I cant take any credit and unfortunately I cant even tell who did take them so as to credit them, but they are quite stunning

Sawblade...that lens is HUGE!! How much does something like that weigh? (and cost?)
oh and great pics....

It weighs 7 or 8 pounds and was $6000 (well, 6,000,000 korean won anyway). I just bought the camera in the picture and asked the guy at the shop to take a picture of me with the lens. That was a 400f2.8, but they also had one of these on the counter, but they got mad and took it in the back room when I started taking picture of it.

Hey that WW F-16 is from my base.

Though, effective April 1st, all US aerial demonstrations are suspended due to the budget idiocy going on.

And that would mean you are based in Misawa ;)

Strange coding for the F-22's , they came out of Kadena & are based there with Langley AB tail codes   (yes I know , I'm very strange that I know all the USAF tail codes too :))

The lack of aerial displays is not only a US problem :spank: there were many notable absences from the Aussie Intl Airshow this year :( :(

After seeing Adrians pics of the A10 it reminded me of my service days at RAF Bawdsey (now defunked), more than 20 years ago. We were about 10 miles from the USAF bases of Woodbridge and Bentwaters. The A10's would often buzz us, especially during an excercise or tracking practice (I worked on the Radar for the bloodhound missiles at the time).

I know this pic probably belongs in the military section (and it wouldn't win any prizes) but here it is anyway:

I love military aircraft!

To change the subject it's springtime around here. The red bud tree in my front yard survived the winter and is starting to bloom. The white iris is from Melody's front yard.

That John Deere tractor is literally 5 minutes from my house. It seems the property owner set it up that way for "art". Lots of old 100+ year buildings around here, mostly farming (cotton and other agriculture).

I planted a red bud tree in the front yard last year and it's finally in bloom this spring. Went out yesterday to get some pics and a bumble bee was there. I took 13 shots, this was the last one and the best one.
