exhaust

I have a 08 Black FZ and the silver guards on the radiator stick out pretty good. I took them off today because it was raining. I need to get them powder coated but they look pretty good off. Why would they make them Silver anyway?.

I'd leave them on until you've bought the almost mandatory frame sliders. One tip over could cost ya!

looks real good. I will have to do it this weekend. Thanks

just remember as with all painting, take your time and keep it clean as possible! I didn't even use primer just sand (to make rough) and paint in light even coats. used about five or six light coats.

That looks really sharp! Any special kind of paint required? I don't know to what extreme, but I would have guessed that the exhaust covers get pretty warm.

I used rustoleum rust tough in flat black. It isn't rated for any high temp application but I have painted the body of a muffler and never had any problems after two years. its super tough and scratch resistant. I use it on everything.

I chromed mine. they look good sitting besides the chrome forks and exhaust. Also that little aluminum insert near the footpegs had chromed also. I just bought the bike. Not even insured yet.. Its an 06 with 2 km on the odo. Cant wait to get my license...:) Ill post some pics when I find my camera. Girlfriend has it in her car maybe?...I hate misplacing things

I used Dupli Color 500 degree low gloss black engine enamel on mine. It is great withstands heat and is chemical resistant just in case you get gas or anything on it. Also Honda polish really makes it look good and blends well with the powder coated frame!!!!
