Dupli-Color perfect match BGM0506 Indigo Met is almost a perfect match for Cobalt blue- $6.99 at advance auto parts. Sure beats paying almost $100 for OEM paint in a spray can. I still need to polish it but here you go:

I was wondering about that tail bag, too. Who makes it and where and how much? That thing actually looks pretty decent. And those wheel stripes are cool too. And thanks for the tip on the paint, it should match my bike perfect.

axio tail bag, i found about it on here. i like it a lot, it sells for $14x.xx but I found it on ebay for $59.

I have the same Axio bag and wondered how you masked it? I see a problem with leaving a line where the canvas meets the paint?

I got this bright blue cortech tail bag that came with the bike. IMO the bright blue looks tacky with the dark blue bike. I was thinking about either getting a different one or trying to spray paint this one black or something.

Do yall think this would work? spraypainting a fabric bag like this, its made of 1682 denier ballistic polyester.

I think it might fade eventually with just spray paint especially if it gets rained on and stuff

Thanks for the tip.
I have an 08 Cobalt blue FZ6 and a couple of small scratches on it.

That is one sharp bike you have there.

Looks seriously sweet!

p.s. What kind of filter do you use to give your pictures that soft effect?

photoshop, make a duplicate layer then adjust your histogram then do a slight blur on it then select multiply on that layer. then you adjust the opacity to your liking or you can adjust the histogram again and flatten the layer.

i picked up 2 cans of the indigo and painted the 2 plastic parts that come with the VS-2 naked headlight kit and I have to say its not really THAT close which sucks. It will have to do I guess. I have an 09 FZ6 and the indigo duplicolor is definitely much darker. Not to be a critic but if you are showing the comparison between the paint on your bike and that tailbag you might want to NOT use effects on your photo. That way you can really see how they compare.

Go spend $100 on the exact match if you want an exact match, otherwise go whine somewhere else.

As for the photo, it is diffused not color altered, it is a 95% color match on my bike. If you know you are that picky then spend the money on the exact color match and have a professional to paint it for you. Some people will whine about anything lmao.

edit: also, the 2nd photo in the 1st post and the 2nd and 3rd pics in the second post are untouched. Poor guy, you are out $6.99 or so for near perfect match paint. That is terrible you saved around $90, next time I will think twice about sharing something like this.

i was trying to figure out what you painted, from your pictures without going through the post. Belly pan. No. Front fairing. No. Entire Bike. No. Oh, your tailbag. Good tip on the paint, but who wants a 95% paint match if they're painting a permanent piece of the bike like a fairing? I'd rather have it look right. Nice looking bike. I have the same color.

I do, I think it looks great and I saved over $90. Yayy for me!

Dude, are you always a jerk off? I wasn't whining nor did I piss in your cheerios but apparently someone else did. All I said was that its not a match basically. Wasn't laying the blame on you so If you took it that way you misinterpreted.

That is a shame your paint did not match to your satisfaction :shakehead: No need to resort to name calling, sorry if the paint color issue caused you so much turmoil lol. I know how trying to cut corners like that can cause life to become difficult. Hopefully when you purchase your paint from Yamaha Motorcycle Paint - ColorRite - ColorRite for $100+ it will be more to your liking.

My bike on the other hand looks fantastic and I am more than satisfied how it looks with the great looking tail bag painted to match. My tailbag that I painted looks amazing and everyone that has seen it loves it and wants to know where I got a matching tail bag lol.

^ This post above therefore cements you into the special "tool hall of fame".
LOL. Not one soul is worthy of your paint job, not even you yourself. hahaha

Cutting corners on your projects is not worth the stress if you are sensitive. Sorry to hear about all the hardship it caused. Hopefully this will be a learning experience for you.

Jeez take a Prozac. "Almost perfect match" isn't good enough, it might as well be red if it isn't the right colour. Next time don't bother sharing it if you are going to be such a turd when someone calls you out on it.
