Casey was always going to do well straight out the box, on the Honda,,,the thing actually handles, and he is the hardest riding racer out the lot of them....Casey rides where others wont go near! Hence the reality that he has been the only rider able to tame the Ducati...everyone else has been too $hit scared, or is more sensible than Casey....
As for Rany...options! I think he was forced to take that ride...his options elsewhere closed up, and he needed to get a ride! Lets just hope that he reaps some benefit from the Ducati Moto GP only racing policy....
Poor Old Loris...he is struggling...few niggling injuries, has been riding a piece of crap, and is now riding another piece of crap...
I still think a fit Loris, on a decent bike, would be a threat...he is tougher than titanium, and is a racer to the end...i personally hope that Loris can prove himself at least one more time...Moto GP needs riders like Capirossi, and Edwards...great custodians of the sport.
And finally as for Rossi respecting Casey, i think that privately, Rossi has enormous respect for Casey's ability...and as such, privately, would be very aware of the threat that Casey poses on a "decent" bike!
The biggest threat to Casey Stoner...is Casey Stoner!!!
I reckon Lorenzo is going to be a short priced favourite to win next years championship...unless he crashes in pre-season testing, and starts the season unfit...which has been the downfall of Rossi, Stoner, and Pedrosa this year...Lorenzo was the only one that stayed fit for 19 races...and the only one that stayed on the bike for all 19 races!!!
If more than one of these 4 stay fit for the whole season next year, we are in for one hell of a year...add in Spies on the factory Yamaha, and a couple of desperado's on Satellite bikes...like Simoncelli, De Puniet, etc...and we could be on the cusp of the next "golden era" in Moto GP...the talent is there!
