Pazzo o Pazzo, how I love thee

I purchased and installed a set of Pazzo levers today. I ordered them directly from Pazzo and received them the next day along with a quality landyard, key chain, stickers, and a master cylinder cover! I went with the long levers for no other reason other than the shorties look motocross to me (not that there is anything wrong with that). I was still surprised at the difference in feel that the levers make even though I had previously read this thread to that effect.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

I am curious about the difference between the long and short levers. I know theres about 1 1/4 inch length difference....correct me if im wrong please.

Cuz if the full length ones are the same length as the stock ones im good with that, kinda nice to be able to grab a handful of brake when need be.

But Ive come to find myself using 2 fingers for the brake on a normal basis. Used 2 finger when I did my track days too. But as for my clutch its still a 3 to 4 finger process. I can use 2 but the distance is shorter than I like and the effort is a little much becuz i have a little more free play the books says to have. Lil less than 1/4 inch I'd say. If the lever would be out further while still having the free play I like I'd try to use 2 finger more often. Do the shortys offer the lever to be out further from the grips but still allow my free play? Or would the full length be a better choice? Plus (God forbid) theres a crash which levers are less likely to break? Im guessing the shorties but not sure.

Any help and opinions for this would be most helpful!

Just a thought here.. Haven't seen anyone so far in MotoGP, WSBK, WSS or BSB who use shorties.. :don'tknow: I'll stick to regular length levers:Flash:

That's because they need full power on their brakes and so will sometimes use 3-4 fingers. If you're a track day bandit you will probably want a full length brake lever, but for street I've never pulled the front brake on with 2 fingers and then thought I needed more power. Shorties are fine for 99.99% of us.

I just wanted to add that if you get a shorty clutch and position it in exactly the same place as the stock one, the pull will not be any harder. It's all about leverage. You are not altering the pivot point. Think about if you took the stock lever then cut an inch off the end. It doesn't miraculously make the pull any harder. It only becomes harder if you position the pivot point closer to your hand. And you'll find that depending on the lever you select and the build quality, that the pull should actually be lighter (ie bearings or better bushings).

Don't know if this helps, but here is a pick of Pazzo shorty's on my hubbys Speed 3 and the std length Pazzos on my Fizzer

The long Pazzo levers are the same overall legth as the stock levers laid on top of each other. The bends in the levers are significantly different though.

I two finger brake all the time on the FZ and that had no significance for me in the selection of the length of levers. I would think that even with the short levers, you could fit an additional finger(s) on the lever, if you needed. At least that's my experience on other bikes I've used with short levers.

I think people only have to pick the length of lever they think looks best.

The pics are helpful, and the description helps.

But its one of those things where I'd like to try both sets and different combos of levers to see what suits me.

Has anyone used a shorty, full length lever combo on their own bike instead of both levers being the same?
