how to beat Internet monitoring at work?

What can I do? Is any way to beat it?
I did some research & I couldn't find anything.

Do a google search for "anonymous proxy" and try those out.
Many have options to scramble the urls you visit. That's good, but you may not be able to use many forms, such as the one to log into this forum.

If you are able to install your own software on your work machine, and have some computer savvy, install something called Tor.

Other than that, get back to work! :spank: :BLAA:

Fred (and anybody else who thinks I'm a jerk ),

I just want to clarify something.
I'm pretty good at work; I'm doing my job fast and well & although nobody is irreplaceable, it won't be very easy for my company to replace me, not that they will do so for just me browsing the Internet, etc.
I'm not only doing that, I also training myself to be better & bring more revenue for myself & my company (sounds like a resume now!)

That's the way I work - I am fast & precise, but I take mini-breaks where I read posts like this one and do other things online, without jeopardizing my projects or my deadlines.

I will continue to do my job & serve my company - that's what I'm paid to do so, but my 8 hours will be better if I can be online from time to time without been controlled by some network manager without a life.

If is not possible, I can live with that, but I was just trying to live better.

It is recession time and everyone is scaling down so if they can get you to actually work 8 hours a day, irrespective of your speed and effectiveness, what a better score for HR and top brass cutting down fat and lowering GA for shareholders to have more.

Not much help when the software is doing screen dumps of your every move.

Or you could setup a VNC (or similar) link to your home PC and browse from there. :spank: This would require some Firewall changes at home.

Or you could boot your PC off a USB stick with linux on.

Or you could search through the registry (I assume its windows and you have admin powers) and remove all references to said s/w.

Or you could tell them your PC has become very sloooooooooow since they installed the s/w.

Of course doing any of the above could result in dismissal. :rof:

I use a proxy server here in Afghanistan to get around content filtering by the ISP,
you need admin rights on the PC to set it up, check this link for some info:

I have no idea about these things. A few people at work (I have heard :liaruse OpenDNS because sites like you-tube are blocked.

I don't know if it will serve your purpose?
My stance on internet use at work is this. I don't smoke, my colleagues who do get at least 5 smoke breaks in a shift. Thats 50 minutes of unofficial company time used in a non work related manner. I spend about 15 minutes checking out the posts at work :spank: on the net. Money well spent by my employer IMO lol.

sorry to say it but your screwed. Back in high school my school used something similar to this and I would have my games in computer class just close and a message from my teacher would pop up on the screen telling me to do my work. Just find out whats acceptable and whats not.

That's exactly what I said.
The problem is not at a CEO level - is about the IT/manager anal, control freak (without a life) who has convinced the decision makers to let him implement this so he can make sure we all doing our jobs, etc. Plus to justify his salary.
