How To How to mount a USB charger ?

Hello everyone,

i would really like to mount a USB charger to my 2008 Fazer 600 and every video i have seen has attatched the charger directly to the battery, which i would prefer not to since its a constant drain of the battery. I have also found some threads talking about splicing it into the low beam power cable and or ignition cable, which is what i would prefer, but none have any images or actual guides on how to do it. I am not electrically savvy so some simpler explenations would be great. If anyone has any photos on how they did it or any advice/how to tips i would really appreciate it.

No solider tools, no experience…no problem…we got you covered. What you want to use is a Quick Wire Splice Connector. The only tool used is a plyer. They are available at home stores, Harbor Freight, Amazon, eBay….

So with this i just splice it onto a power wire from the low beam headlight and or power for ignition. Now the only thing i have to find are the actual power wires for ignition or headlight. But which would be better: Low beam or ignition ?

I would use the low beam, the Black wire with a Green trace.

Don't attach directly to the battery. The USB is an active 5 VDC regulator which will constantly draw a small amount of current.

I ran my GPS tapped into the front directional RUNNING light wire. It's ONLY powered when the bike is on.

It's easily accessible..

I would keep away from Garys connectors as it makes the wire much more susceptible to
moisture / corrosion.
