Put on my R6s forks and brakes today...WOW. SOOOOOO much more planted, SOOOOO much less chatter over rough road. So much less brake dive. It feels like a whole new bike.

I would very much like to praise the person on these boards who hooked me up with spacers, but I don't know if he is wanting to make a bunch more for other people or not, so I'll hold off on naming him.


Super Mod. The stock forks feel like they should be on a toy motorcycle. The new ones rock.

Agreed. It so improved the character of my FZ6 when I did the mod a few years ago.

I'd still like to put a different rear shock on, but the Ohlins is too rich for my blood. I wish there was an appropriate OEM shock that would fit without hacking, and have the correct spring rate.

What year(s) R-6 forks match up with what year(s) FZ6?

Does anyone know of any OEM shocks that match up with the FZ6? WP makes a pretty decent shock for the money. It looks like they have a couple of different shocks to choose from and springs as well. I'll keep looking for prices.

Sweet, just bought a set of forks off of ebay last night. Can't wait. Can you show us what you did for spacers and how you attached the front fender?

It will be different for your bike. There should be some pretty informative threads on this already if you search around.

I followed the instructions for the mod from a post on that other forum listed here: R6 Fork Mod Instructions Revived - Sportbikes.net

It has step by step instructions with pictures and tells you all the parts you will need, but once you get into the job it becomes pretty self-evident what needs to happen for the most part.

And I got hold of a set of spacers from a member on these forums. I will be his best advertiser if he wants to get into the business of selling a bunch of these spacer sets. But I'm not sure if he does or not, so I'm not going to go posting his name around until I know for sure he wants to do more.

What I did was just ask around a lot on forums and through PMs.

What year(s) R-6 forks match up with what year(s) FZ6?

Does anyone know of any OEM shocks that match up with the FZ6? WP makes a pretty decent shock for the money. It looks like they have a couple of different shocks to choose from and springs as well. I'll keep looking for prices.

03-04 R6, 06-09 R6S. Some 05 R6 forks will work so long as they are not the inverted (upside down) forks. 03zq8 just made a run of the fender tabs and wheel spaces they only run $50 shipped!

That the main thing i was wondering. I know the rest is pretty much plug and play, but the spacers can be hard to come by.
