So I'm out today and I'm turning right onto a road. The traffic is flowing so I have to merge in with them. so I'm rolling while looking left eying up where I'm merging in and I look right to see a cinder block in the middle of the road - and I'm heading RIGHT for it.
I pulled an evasive maneuver of sorts and somehow managed to scratch the underside of my center stand. I'm lucky I saw the block when I did - a split second later and I'd be sprawled on the pavement in the pieces of my wrecked fazer.
What I should have done? Stopped, looked left, and THEN merged. But it is a road I ride daily and am used to rolling while checking the left side for cars. I supposed I'll be approaching this turn differently in the future.
God only knows though how I managed not to plow into the cinder block, and only rode away with a scratch on the center stand.
So heads up y'all on the damned cinder blocks laying around in the middle of the road - they'll creep up on you. I guess I learned my lesson today.
