Oil threads suck! No matter what, it always turns into back 'n forth opinionating. There's a lot of not-so-smart opinions out there. At any rate, if you do a search for oil threads, there are already 1,000,000. (I know, then why did I read this one...?)

I figured I would know what to do but this thread was a great safety net!!!

How much return should I see on an oil change???
Im hoping it wasn't a placebo effect, but the bike is much much smoother, less vibe at higher RPMs, less wining, seems to be less bucking in downshifting feels more like a manual car than a bike...

Is this in my head???

The oil was pretty nasty and the filter was beyond needing to be replaced...

Heads up, I found Rotella T synthetic 5W-40 on sale @ Walmart for $19 a gal. This was in SoCal.

after I tried 2 walmarts and they didn't carry it!, i went with Amsoil 10w40...then i walk into the ghetto walmart and see the Rotella... Talk about being a little miffed. oh well maybe i'll pick some up for next years oil change.

yeah went out to filer powersports, so i tried the one in macedon...then called the greece one...no go at either...but of course irondequoit had plenty.

To be honest I doubt my bike has ever tasted either :Flip:, so I am just interested to see if it feels different after the change. I'll start the whats better battle after a few weeks of testing...:ban:

I'll happily pay an extra dollar at Auto Zone to avoid dealing with and supporting Sprawl Mart.

I'd prefer a mom and pop shop, but I haven't found Rotella T at any of them around here.
