Good to prove to the europeans that we aren't quite the racist bad guys that they think we are but bad for people like me who want less government, etc.

Yeah good day overall I guess

Think you got that wrong ....,- Racism is not the first thing that comes to mind when we think about Americans.
Racism is a world wide problem, - don't think is more outspoken in the US than it is in the rest of the world.

LOL scared to ask what that is - Actually I dont care, we don't get credit for the good we do, just the bad - thats my personal opinion only. Its cool though to show that anything has been and still is possible in the USA no matter your upbringing, demographic or skin color.

When I think of America then racism is indeed not the first thing that comes to my mind. I then think of big ugly cars that use a lot of gaz...:p
I also think of schools where kids have guns. But I realize that America is big and that there are a lot of differences among the American people. Like there is in Europe. Like in Scandinavian country's the women are much more "sherif in town" than in south-Europe. In Scandinavia the women go to bars and choose the men. While in Italy the men take the initiative. :D

that is interesting about the cars and guns. My truck is a tank and gets horrible mileage but then again we have bad drivers and I can just ride over them :D We do have a horrible problem with schools here but the gun stuff isn't often and its probably good news stories for overseas (a guess on my part).

We throw money at problems instead of dealing with the issues in schools so we continue to fail but thats a whole other thread.

I really hope Obama will change things. But frankly I'm very skeptical as there is so much wrong :(

I wish him the best of success though

Women in Scandinavia are whores:rockon:
(doesn't bother me, though:D)

Seriously, though. I've been to the US a few times, and it allways strikes me how friendly Americans are. In general I like it at LOT in the US.

Problem is that America has had some sort of an image problem. With "W" at the rudder, things have -at least from a European perspective- gone from bad to worse from the first to second presidential period. With this I mean everything from security policies to economic policies. No matter what some might say, everything that happens over the pond, have an impact on us.

So hey! I think it's for the better for YOU guys that your country's foremost spokesman no longer is George;) He never represented what I think is America.

Man you said it!!!! We have so many fat people, fat kids, fat everything.

Wal-Mart is a huge chain here that kills small business and they have the fat carts that are for those with disabilities but nope - fat people use em to get their groceries and all the goodies made in China.

....and the shopping carts... This is from my blog - FAT AND LAZY, I hate hate hate it. Its a wonder I haven't been shot for assaulting people at stores like this. I yelled at the fat lady that did this:

Ramblings by a nerd: Hey you...

I laughed my ass off the first time I saw a "fatmobile", which was in Florida:D

I had to use one of those one time. I had a sprained ankle after totalling my ex's Nighthawk 250. (I did her a favor.)

I was on crutches and couldn't hold a shopping bag, so I used a cart.

I started on my shopping. As a sidenote, how do you get and stay fat when you use one of those things? The basket is tiny!

But halfway through the store I see a 400+ pound woman coming the other way on her fat cart. She spies me, and in much the same way that riders ID each other and give a not or a wave, she made eye contact and gave me a look that seemed to say,"Welcome to the club. You're now one of us. One of us. One of us."

Piss on that. I got up out of my cripple cart, grabbed a crutch, and hobbled my way across the bakery section to grab something off a shelf. Item in my free hand, I limped back and got back in the cart.

It hurt like hell, but I did it to make a point to her. I did not want, for one second, to be identified as being part of the "I'm so fat I can't walk" subculture.

I don't know what it is, but with just hearing the name my imagination produces very funny images. :D

I always heard that a lot of people in America are fat. Never been there, but it always strikes me when I see the normal people on television(not the Hollywood productions). They are just huge!! And a lot of girls have fake breasts...not good!!

One of these. Sign optional.

I am scared to see what happens to our country at this point. So many people only voted for obama based on skin color. It is like half the country has blinders on and can't see past the fact that he is the first black president. All the interviewed people are just concerned with his skin color and not with how f'ed up everything is in this country. I really hope the best but fear the worst. More money being spent on useless shi*. I also see socialism coming to an extent. I hope obama is more than a good talker blowing smoke up everyone's a**. We need a smart leader that knows that government spending isn't the answer. Socialism hasn't been successful anywhere so let's not try it here. Like I said before, I wish obama and his team the best and hope they can straighten out what clinton did cause bush didn't have the time to fix that many mistakes.

You made sense until the very last sentence. Bush, fixing mistakes? He was too busy making his own to worry about fixing anything.

Either way, Obama has his hands full, and he's going to have to make some very unpopular choices. Hopefully he's got the guts to abandon both party lines and be an actual leader.

Change for the better? I hope so but estimates are about 170 million for his inauguration, 8 years ago Bush spent 45 mil.

Seems with our tough economic times that's not a good start. We all hope he does well but with our congress and senate so out of touch with fiscal responsibility I really doubt things will change for the better. It's real sad what they are doing to our country.

We are not all fat, just some of us cuz we quit smoking;)

Amercia is to big and diverse to judge by what you see on TV or hear from a few of us. It's really a awesome country!

Well this mess did happen on Bush's watch even though he was far from being solely responsible for the banking mess. Proof? You really see republicans pushing for banks to make loans to minorities and others who don't make enough money to pay it back?

BUT a fact check: Bush Senior handed Clinton the improving economy and on Clinton's way out, he handed Bush Jr a recession. His wife said on the campaign trail that it took a clinton to clean up after a bush and not one reporter pointed out that fact - but then again, you have to be blind if you dont see a bias with our media.

its all good, I'm an American and I'm backing Obama to do a good job but I hate that he's a socialist at heart.

PS Lets get back to the fat carts and happy posts

The Blame Game. The party in power blames the previous party in power for the current problems. The party not in power blames the party in power for the current problems.

Who is right? I don't know.

I only know that I'm royally pissed at both parties. The Republicans have never represented me. But when two out of three Democrats voted for the mortgage bailout, and five out of seven Republicans voted against it, I came to the conclusion that the Democrats do not represent me either.

I voted Libertarian and have no regrets.
