...to get his butt kicked and hazed so that he can be a part of the bunch? I just picked up a blue (is that the fast color?) '06 with 8500 miles on it for a good price, and this looks like the place to be.

Welcome and I'm a noob too. Think of something you're interested in and click 'Search'. Try 'headlight' or 'oil change' or 'oil filter' for giggles and you'll get lots of great info. When you find a good reference and want to keep it for future use, click the post's 'Thread tools' and subscribe it.

No,
I've had a few bikes but none this summer and was about to go nuts, sold a VStrom 1000 in April. The FZ6 is nice so far, not a big V-Twin but man do these things rev. I had to watch the tach the first time I took it to 13,000RPMs and I kind of cringed. The VStrom would rev limit at around 9000 if I remember right.

Welcome to the forum,
The bar is a good place to start and as mentioned the search function.

Good Luck

Nelly

:welcome: to the forum. There's an amazing amount of information on this forum. Not only that, if you can't find what you're looking for, just ask. There are many people here that are more than glad to help.

By the way, it sounds like you got the best and fastest bike of them all. :D

WHAT??!!!! Don't think I have even ventured past 8K rpms... LOL. Guess I'm riding Ms Daisy.
Trust me the bike has a dual personality theres the 0-8000 rpm then theres the 8000-14000 rpm I absolutely fell in love with this bike when i red lined her

glad you joined us... :welcome: usually i hit the home button and it refreshes the most active list of post. After i go through all of the new post il browse the forum topics and then search certain things but mostly i refresh the home button... have fun and keep it vertical

Welcome glad your here, not really any hazing unless you just pop off with something extra stupid and then insist its true, then get made when its proven wrong and then get insulting, then start cussing. Thats a bannin. LOL LOL

Welcome man, its a nice place to be.

You bought a slow blue one. That's all you had to say. The hazing will begin momentarily.

Some people throw red paint on people wearing furs.

I throw red paint on blue motorcycles.

Welcome here. It's amazing to see so many new members showing up with low mileage used FZs. I guess that's just as typical for FZs as it is for for bikes in general, but still makes me shake my head.

Yes, you got the fast one. The red models come with throttle governers and training wheels.

You're just jealous because you didn't get the Yamaha Limited Edition Billet Chrome Iridium Training Wheels and Governor. :Flip:

Fred

The red bikes go to eleven.

As one noob FZ6 rider to another, there is no better place to be than this forum. Loads of info on your bike, and plenty of people who will set you straight on mods, tech info and the like.

Enjoy your bike! And BTW, the red is SLIGHTLY faster. ;)

:welcome:

If I'm not mistaken you are a member of advrider.com. I saw where you asked if the Fazer was a good bike. Glad to see that you got it. As I said on there, you'll love it.

Welcome aboard. Keep us Fazers up to date with cool stuff on adv... it's a heluva good forum.

Hey, that's right I post over there on occasion, I especially lurk on the Jomomma section as it's really something to see. I have dabbled my foot in that particular forum but man will they chew you up in a second. Although, this looks to be an awesome place for FZ6 Knowledge..heck I'm still a Stromtrooper too at stromtrooper.com!! Thanks for the welcoming wagon.

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

Post often, but avoid this question......

"What's the best oil to use"?

That question will cause this forum to self-destruct in 30 seconds....:rof: :ban:
