best place in melb to buy parts?

Forget Yamaha City, go to Peter Stevens. I have had bad experiences with the Yamaha City corporation and found them, in my case, to be deceptive. Peter Stevens, on the other hand, can supply parts promptly. I have had good experiences with the Geelong dealership as well, having had parts...

    News from the Road

These bags were used in WW1 and WW2. Despatch riders used them on horseback in the first big stouch. My uncle used one in Darwin when the bombs were dropping there and he was taking photographs and riding back to the Army base for developing and whatever the Generals did. That was in the 1940's...

    News from the Road

Just did the 850 km trip to the folks place in Gippsland Victoria. Saw all conditions and had a tail wind for many kilometres. Lost a good pair of runners courtesy of loose 'OCCY STRAPS' and a small manbag (despatch bag Aussie Disposals) came over the rear left pipe and got burnt. Now here is...

    Leaking water pump hose

Yeah, I used a bit of wet and dry paper I carry in my despatch bag to clean up the water pump flange. It was pitted and probably caused the leak. Coincidently, changed the air cleaner element and fuel economy has increased dramatically, just goes to show how it affects fuel. Put 800km on the...

my hose are 3 years old, when to replace? Pulled up after a 700km weekend and the hose at the outlet side of the water pump was leaking as I idled the bike after the run. Anyone had a similar issue. When should all the coolant hoses get replaced? Got 2 hoses coming from Yamaha as I live in the...

All of them. ie kilometres or age. My fizzer has done 40,000 km and is 3 years old. When should I think about replacing the water...

Is the FZ6 the best bike you have owned, ridden???

For me the 850 Commando is the best bike. You kick start it. It turns heads and sounds flawless. It handles well for a heavy bike and is arguably one of the best bikes to ever grace the showroom floor. Now put it away and get on a Fazer.
