I just upgraded to a 2003 R1. Had the Fazer for over 3 years and hardly took a pillion, so thought "bugger it" and moved to the R1. Will miss the fazer a lot but at my time in life just now, the R1 is the winner. I wont be single and 25 forever so needed to make the most of it. If I moved onto a...
Just checked the compatibility thread and the exhaust seem to be compatible between the version. Will this also apply to aftermarket exhausts?
I have an S2 and want some more noise and if the 04-06 versions will fit it will give me more options regarding second hand
Cheers, Dave
Going to get myself booked for a newcomers track day early next year and want some advice on basic set up for the FZ6. pls chaps.
Basically, its a newcomers, i.e. never been on track before, thing so i dont need slicks or anything, but some simple tips would be handy.
Heavier weight fork...
Cheers for the replies folks. I used to hate the looks of the busa but they have really grown on me. The twisties are what i like most about the bike, and the FZ6 is cracking in the corners. I just wanted a change and experience the craziness.
Ideally id love a gsxr 750, my ideal bike, and i...
For those of you who have had one/ridden one...Whats yours thoughts? Its a big step up in power from the FZ6 but the temptation is unbearable.
Im 25 now and insurance has finally reached an acceptable level for me to get something bonkers quick, just because i can. A hayabusa is really more...
I keep wanting to change my bike to something faster, but i know deep down if i had exhausts on this one i would keep it alot longer.
Sod it....Credit card haha
Im well and truley fed up with how quiet the stock exhaust is on the Fazer and i want more grunt. But im not willingt o pay £350 for 2 cans, rubbish value for money as far as im concerned.
So basically are there any cheaper alternatives to scorpions etc? If not i will just have to keep an...
I recently had a test ride on a BMW 1200GS, similar ish to the vstrom i suppose. Was great, comfy, quick, handled amazing. But once i got back on the FZ6 i wanted to keep the wee yamaha. For me the FZ6 is halfway between a tourer and a sports bike.
Comfy, just firm enough to give good...
Anyone done this? I want more of a roar from the bike, but cant really justify spending hundreds on new rear cans.
It make any difference if anyone has done it? Will be a much cheaper option if it works
Ive done 3k miles on my BT021's. Rear has about 3mm tread left, front looks new. Ive noticed tyre pressures make a massive difference in the life of the tyre. I now run at 36/42 and they last alot longer. My previous BT020s where 34/36 and the back barely lasted 4k miles.
I love the...
my mirrors have the same thing, never bothered complaining really as it happens on alot of mirrors (not just FZ6 or bikes) and i dont really care that much for appearance lol.
its gonna get to the point where i simply wont care about a licence, tax, mot, insurance. **** them. **** them all
The mad max days are getting closer!!!
Deep down i want a BMW GS 1100/1150/1200, whichever. Im only 24 but deep down im like you, just want to get away for a while off the beaten track and enjoy the world. Recently tested a 1200gs and they handle very very well, as good as the FZ6 imho, and with 105bhp almost as quick.
My ideal...
i will also delay mine until around 30k miles, purely because everyone who has checked seemed to be within limits, unless i get bored and feel the need to dismantle something lol :ban:
In the UK our service intervals (atleast stated in my owners manual) is 6k miles minor service and 12k miles major service, 18k minor etc with Valve adjustment at 24k miles.
What is it in the USA and OZ etc? I wonder what yamahas reasons are if they different, as i keep seeing people on...
