Would clear packaging tape protect the plastic?

Yeah...possibly stupid question.
Supposed you're about to embark on a long and dangerous journey and, quite rightly, you're more worried that your plastic is going to get beat up.

Would using clear packaging tape protect the plastic?
Would the glue on the tape mess anything up?

As for the plastics, let them get dinged up. It adds character.

I wouldn't use clear tape, if you want to use tape and don't care about how it looks use the blue painters tape. They make you tape up your headlights, taillights and blinkers when you run on the track out here and that's what people use. The painters tape should come off alot eaiser and not leave a residue like the clear stuff would.

I like this idea best. With a sh*t load of duct tape all over the bike, cagers would have to be saying to themselves OMG-WTF! and stay away from you because the bike would look all warrior like. Maybe some tape on your helmet and gear... :rockon: :rof:

I think duct tape would be too strong. It may mess up the paint.
I do have silver Reflexite solas reflective tape on my helmet. Looks like duct tape during the day. At night it's super-bright!
