I was driving 25ft long,1/4 ton piling sheets into the ground 10 years ago using a 27 ton 360 excavator with a pair of jaws where the bucket should have been.

The chain that held the sheets upright snapped and a sheet toppled backwards straight through the unprotected glass area of the cab.

Result, broken collarbone,wrist,arm,3 ribs oh and it severed my foot off through the Tibular and Fibular. They reconstructed it using Ti plates and pins. took 8 months before I could walk properly.

funny thing was that the only thing stopping my foot completely falling off,was my Achilles tendon...Which I have just buggered...On the same foot..;)

8am, on call week, very tired. exit off freeway take a left, a semi is taking a right on the other side of the bridge and it's cab has obstructed my view as well as part of my lane. I was focused on it while driving through a stop sign and seeing a suburban broadside my drivers side rear wheel, flip my van over and slide toward the ditch.
no injuries, totaled van and a reminder of how easy things like this can happen.

Is that first pic taken at the same time as the second? All I can say is ouch and it looks a lot better in the third!!

Yea first and second were taken at the same time just from a different angle...
Too bad that I don't have pictures of it when it was attached to my tummy.

My worst wasn't the accident but the fix. I was a senior in high school and was playing basketball in sandals. I came down from a jump and my foot hit funny and I fell over. I just thought I twisted my ankle. A week later I had a lacrosse game and decided to play. Just wrap the thing up and it will be fine, right? My foot got stepped on as I was moving and I fell again and my foot stayed flat as I fell over. No biggie just some more pain in my foot. I went two weeks limping around and finally went to crutches. I was crutching along and hit a wet patch in the hallway and fell on my injured foot. Blacked out for a moment because of the pain and finally decided I should go to the hospital.

Well as near as I can tell the first fall broke a bone in my foot. The second fall broke another and twisted them out of alignment. The waiting actually caused the bones to start to knit together. The third fall from the crutches was just icing.

The worst part was the rebreaking of the bones so the doctor could set them properly. Knowing the pain is going to happen is a lot worse than not knowing.

Ok WOW lots of good stuff here. Here is mine. I was seven years old. I was on one of those spring horses. I was standing up. The foot pegs snapped off. Feet on ground, knobby thing on saddle comes up between my legs. Seven stitches on my shaft. sorry, no pics don't ask. the worst was waiting for the specialist and having to pee. Asked if i could go, doc said yeah, so i checked to make sure it wasn't going to come out the side.

Got kicked in the head by a horse when I was 7--
Got whacked in the head by a lock that we were using as a tether ball--
Got clubbed in the head with a base ball bat we were using for a golf club--
Guess that is why I was stupid enough to play Tarzan on the swing set, no swing just the hook that hold the seat, and I slipped and put a nasty cut in the old ball sack. Ran home and asked my dad for a bandage, he took one look and just said GET IN THE CAR. Took 32 stitches and yes everything still works, got three boys to prove it although they do sorta look like the postman:BLAA:

1983 - Hit a car with my Peugeot 12 speed that had pulled out in front of me while I was cruising about 30 MPH. Flew over the hood and landed on my upper back area dislocating my collar bone from the shoulder (AC separation). Weird thing is I never hit my head I just hit the road, rolled and stood back up, looked over and there was a lump on my shoulder under my shirt.

Got "T"-boned in a Leyland Mariner by a coal truck, near Catherine Hill Bay in New South Wales. Car rolled about 8 times (seriously...who's counting?...lol), and ended up 150 metres from the point of impact on its roof.

Walked away with Not a Scratch:eek::thumbup:.

Got out and looked at the truck, and found it interesting to see tire marks from the car in a line from half way up the trailer and off the top. Car must have been sideways, at least 15 feet off the ground at one point...lol....Best ride in the park!:BLAA:
