Time for new tires (rear one is just about down to the belt, while front looks nearly perfect, but I figured if it's 3 years old or older, it should be replaced anyway).
So.. I check the markings on the rear: Dunlop D252, made in 46th week of 2006. The front: Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier D209F made in 37th week of 2007.
Am I losing it or is this NOT the stock tire?? I thought both front and rear were supposed to be 252s?!
Quick search shows that 209 is actually a race tire (came stock on several bikes, including R6), while 252 is sport touring and it seems this combination is not recommended. Should I be dead right now?
I'll be swapping both tires out, but I'm just trying to figure out what I've been riding all this time. I'm the 2nd owner of this bike and I was told the tires were OEM
