What paint to spray radiator side guards?

'08 rad covers? Has anyone powder-coated them yet? Pics? Thanx!

They are the same as the 07, silver, havent seen them in person but that's what the Yamaha site shows.

I bought some matching paint from ColorRite to match the original black (for some unexpected scratchs by my son) so i am going to use that to paint them.

Cant beleive I started this thread at the end of February and my side guards are not back from the powder coaters yet!

I have purchased and fitted an aftermarket stainless steel radiator cover.

I removed the 2 silver metal side guards, then the plastic radiator cover.

I then fitted the new cover only, with no side guards.

I have now decided to spray the 2 silver side guards black, to match the colour of my frame, and fit them back to the bike.

Does anyone know which spray/paint would be best to coat these side guards black?

if you painted them they would have been done weeks ago!

but really have you called and haselled them yet? tell them to get on it!

I just spray painted mine. I roughed up the pieces and made sure to put about 5 coats on. 1200 miles and still no chipping.

Next time you want something powder coated ship them to me and they will be turned in about 4 days. Two months is unreal. They even do the chrome type powdercoat and it looks great.

I painted my 08 rad covers. I used rustoleum flat black.Around here they said it would be a month wait for powder coating until they get enough parts to do a big amount of them.
