Re: Rotella oil sale @ Walmart

Oh no! Don't put that cheap crap in your bike!?!? Are you crazy? You'll ruin it!

Use nothing but the best!

Is that stuff trans-fat free I heard that's not good for the clutch. :D

Re: Rotella oil sale @ Walmart

It's $19 now in my city too. I noticed though that its always about that price in small towns. Not really worth a special drive but worth picking up if you want it and are already in a small town.

Re: Rotella oil sale @ Walmart

We can, but no claiming that it is better than Crest to brush your teeth with, or is a better substitute for Viagra. :D

Man, I'm just being a good samaritan and passing a few bucks to fellow Rotella users. Two pages later, it turns into Viagra and how it's not good for the crotch.

Re: Rotella oil sale @ Walmart

Hi Tole, welcome to the forum and yes, it's about time you change the oil in the FZ6. Please do search this forum on the subject of oil. I'd rather everyone refrain from discussing it in this thread.

I'm guessing more than 1 out of 3 or 4 on this forum uses this oil. But make sure you pick up a good filter as well. And search on that too.

Good luck and post back your experience.

Re: Rotella oil sale @ Walmart

thanks for reply, just a very quick question, which filter would you suggest?
and it is necessary to hange filster everytime you change oil, the manula says once a year so i was not about to change it.
and lastly i had bought FRAM ph6017A oil filter, the only one i got in walmart...
thanks again
tole

Re: Rotella oil sale @ Walmart

Nooooo... no FRAM.... please! Just call your local auto parts shop and ask for Purolator PureOne # PL14610. Google that as well and you'll know why.

Best deal on oil in Calgary

Anybody know a good place in Calgary to buy synthetic oil? The Yamalube at Blackfoot was super expensive(not surprisingly). Anybody else use another kind of synthetic?

Re: Best deal on oil in Calgary

Hi.

I live in Calgary.

I use AMSOIL synthetic oil. I ordered it online from the AMSOIL website. Here:

http://www.amsoil.com/

Order their synthetic motorcycle oil and it'll be delivered in 3 business days (or less). It's not a bad price, considering how much it will cost for synthetic oil from Canadian Tire.

You're welcome.

What oil and why?

There's a great thread on oil filters, but I couldn't find one on oil. What oil does everyone use, and why? Include the brand, type, and weight, if you could.

I tried to find a 10W30 motorcycle oil at the local auto places and couldn't. VIP only had a 20W50, and AutoZone had a 10W40 (that I ended up buying) at $5/quart).

Re: What oil and why?

There are quite a few oil threads if you do a search function and most of them a quite long. I used Yamaha 20w50 for the first 8000kms and this year am going to switch to Amsoil synthetic 10W40. Just make sure you use proper motorcycle oil.

Re: What oil and why?

Ahhhhh, not an OIL thread!

:scared:

You really couldn't find a thread on OIL? I find that very hard to believe...

+1

Search harder. Sorry but we don't need yet ANOTHER "what oil" thread.

Much like a public restroom when you need one, this thread is now CLOSED.
