Wanted to get some ideas for some parts to make for our bikes.

This one is easy - Clutch and brake levers. They should be a one piece section, but could be made stylish, lightweight but cheaper than those available commercially. I mean, how much are pazzo's etc??? They would fly off the shelves
Yup. Shouldn't be too much extra work doing shorties and normal length too. The hard part in terms of manufacturing would be where it attaches to the bars/brake system etc.

If you'd make these ... I would buy ... 100% :thumbup:
Levers where my next upgrade

And some caliper adapters :p

some good idea's the only alum i can get is smaller alum. so couldnt make the radior cover, and as much as i would love the brake and clutch levers those are more cast alum. i cand also make things out of plastic, so was thinking frame sliders and frames plugs. keep the list going lots of good thought going on, when i get more time i will make a list of things i can do and decied. clip om are out of the question as much as i would love to make them. all i have is a mill, no cnc machine. so all parts will be hand made. bar end will be a good one, mirrior block offs are good to.
i think we need to take a poll on what every one wants the most.

i am going to start making frame sliders. even though i just spent $100.00 on mine lol. i will take off my motovations frame sliders and get to work. i get the derlin plastic, blue, white, and black. i will make them a little longer then the motovations are. maybe?

any thoughts on prices?

lucky, you would be my hero if you're able to come through with some mirror block-off plates. As I said, I've always wanted to put bar-end mirrors on my FZ, but the front end is just too ugly with the stock mirrors off.

I'm not sure how you could do this, though, since you have a '07 and the fairings are different. I've got my stock windscreen back on my bike right now, as my Puig has some spiderwebbing in the center and I'm about to get another one. If you wanted, I'd be happy to send you my Puig so you could get the measurements you'd need for the plates. I'm not sure if that helps or not, but I figured I'd offer. If you do decide to take a swing at the plates, just let me know and it'll be on it's way the next day! :thumbup:

  • Frame plugs - should be pretty easy and you'd sell tons of them
  • Levers - if you could pull this off for cheap we'd probably throw you a parade. No one really likes the stock ones but most of us can't rationalize spending $150+ on ASV or Pazzo ones.
  • Rearset inserts - they're easy enough to paint but some CF ones would be cool and since the area behind them is filled in you could even mill them out to make designs.
  • Dual headlight flag adapters - I know some people have found ones that fit exactly but I haven't been able to yet. You could even make a kit with the flag adapter, wire and a 3m tap for those of us who don't want to dig into the bike to do bd's mod.
  • Pre-cut racetech spacers - not sure if this would even be feasible but one of the main reasons I haven't done the racetech mod is because I think I'd either be lost or mess up when it comes to cutting the spacers. I know I'd personally pay a little more to know I'd get the correct sag without having to cut and measure repeatedly.

Maybe the flag terminals and racetech spacers are a little out there, it's just that no one has really focused on those parts of the mods when doing their writeups (or I'm inept and haven't found it....which is likely)

Frame plugs are a awsome idea, should be easy too. How about some handlebar top clamps, so we can get rid of those ugly oem ones

I did'nt read the entire thread so this could be a duplicate post but how about mirror block off plates for our bikes not just the standard thing something that has the FZ6 logo on it would be cool

Look into ConvertiBars.

Pretty darn cool, but they could still benefit from a forward/aft translation instead of rotating the handlebars to get the forward/aft movement. Move them too far toward you and the angle is no longer comfortable. I'm assuming of course, I didn't spend the nearly $400 to test them out.

Forum member, 'Daybreaker', already has been making frame plugs. http://www.600riders.com/forum/group-purchases/15091-left-side-frame-plugs.html

I don't think they "flew off the shelves" as some people thought.... He mainly did left side frame plugs but also did a few right side ones, but the demand didn't seem to be there to continue with it. Also costs have to be taken into account as you can purchase the Yamaha OEM right side frame plug for $40.00 CDN. It can get hard to hand make/machine parts at that price point.

Clip ons please

A gas tank that won't interfere with under triple mounted clip-ons at full lock.

Others:
* A top triple clamp that has a convenient mount for the 04-06 OEM gauge cluster
* Spacers & fender tabs for the 03-04 R6, 06-09 R6S fork mod
* A triple tree parts to all people to swap in 05-08 R6 inverted forks
* * Spacers & fender tabs for a new 05-08 R6 fork mod
* Parts to make a R6/R6S or R1 swingarm swap easy.

I'd like to see a nice looking set of risers.
Custom heavier bar ends to reduce vibration and look cool.
Mirror extenders for the +07 mirriors ( I'm tired of looking at my elbows).
Inexpensive levers

on the fender adapters for R6 fork mod!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. I got a quote for doing those fender tabs...$150 a set (tabs and spacers). $95 for just fender tabs. Plenty of near precision machining. doc_simple on sbn demonstrated how to use zip ties instead.
