Hi guys,

I've got an '08 model FZ6 Fazer, with the all black frame, engine, swing arm, wheels, etc., and I'm wondering if anybody knows which paint is recommended to touch up these parts, and where I can get it in the UK? Obviously the engine needs stuff that can cope with extreme temperatures, but for the other parts this requirement is not as necessary. What paint does Yamaha recommend, and what is the specific colour code for this hue of black?

Thanks people, ride safe! :uk: :)

Hi Mate,

Try this company:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/BIKECOLOURS

I have used them and their product is excellent. One of the difficulties in getting paint for Yamaha is that they paint all of their own parts and don't release paint codes.

They stock all the paint for yamaha in the UK I believe. The bike shop I got my 125 yamaha from put me on to them and they talk you through all the details of what you may need (primer, colour coat, clear lacquer on top, polish etc.) They also know where the colour code stickers are hidden on the bike so you can read it off to them. Very helpful.

It was such a good colour match the shop I got the 125 from didn't notice it had been dropped when I traded it in with them for an FZ6

I looked around the net and ended up just getting it on ebay as I only wanted a little bit. I bought this but there are quite a few sellers out there.

Thanks for your responses guys; I emailed and tried calling BIKECOLOURS at the beginning of the week, but have not had any reply from them  so I think I'll give RS Paints a go (http://motorbikepaint.co.uk/), as they seem to have a good rep.

:D
