Two Brothers exhaust computer reset.

I installed a Two Brothers Racing exhaust a couple months ago and never got around to disconnect my battery to reset the computer. Well I just did a few days ago and my bike runs alot smoother. The computer resets for the new more flowing exhaust. Try it it works.

I didn't know about that trick, probably cause I had to replace my battery shortly after I put the pipes on. I just recently put on a PCIII and had it dyno'd the other day. The combo made a pretty noticeable difference too and runs and idles way smoother now with little to no backfire. I miss the backfire though, gave it a nice, mean sound!

Would simply removing a single cable the "+" or the "-" reset the battery as well? I don't want to go through the trouble of unplugging both cables. But if one does the job I might go for it. On another note how much of a difference did it make on your bike's performance?

Yes, removing just the + side of the battery will work, but removing just the - side will not. If you remove the + side for 15 minutes it should clear the memory of your ECU and have it reprogram itself for it's FI and airflow fuel mixture rates.

You are right about the little rumble backfire comming off the throttle or going down a hill without the throttle on. It sounded pretty mean like that. With the computer reset it is gone now and the bike runs alot smoother through out the power range and at idle now. I noticed the bikes temp is down also.

When I installed my Scorpions, I never got that popping on deceleration. I didn't do anything to the bike except put them on.

you probably have the DB killers in? reduces airflow and sound. you might notice an improvement if you reset your ecu, it is recommended by Scorpion as well.

I removed the "-" and it reset the battery. Shouldnt it be that way anyway? I mean i saw the speedo go blank and reset itself and the clock dissapeared while i had the "-" disconnected, am i wrong? Also i did it on a 2006 so dunno if it actually did anything. I know on the 07-08 you guys have an air sensor but the 04-06 dont...I love the crackle and backfire my Leo's with no Baffles or Cat make

I don't believe this will work for the pre-'07 model because they do not have the O2 sensor thus cannot learn and remap on their own. The older model has a pre-defined map that will not change without a PCIII or something similar that you can program.

I have your same setup and what I did was go on the PC website and got the Leo Vince map. Assuming you have the stock airbox, I would go with this map. The reason for using the Leo Vince PC map is because both pipes get rid of the cat converter and is the closest to our setup. I would recommend getting your bike tuned in the future because it will not only give your engine the correct fuel mixture but will improve your overall performance. If you don't get your bike tuned, it won't hurt it, it just won't run the best that it can. To me, there is no sense to add fuel delivery mods without getting tuned. it will work if you just unplug the negative cable to. The computer has to have power and if you disconnect the negative it looses power and resets just leave it disconnected for 15 min or so. Try taking the negative cable of of your car or truck then turn the radio on or the ingnition no power so the computer doesnt have any either. Just the negative will reset it and is the cable recommended to take off.

OK, i had no idea i had to reset my ECU. I have the 07 with the scorps and the KN filter. But after reading all the talk about taking the + or - off, do i have to do that. PLEASE someone help.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter which battery lead you take off, positive or negative. Just take one off and the juice stops flowing. :thumbup:

Is this verified about resetting the ECU after installing the Two Bros. After installing the Two Bros on my bike I did notice (apart from the noise )a little more torque at the lower and mid rpms. I have not reset the ECU and my bike runs as smooth as ever. I have not noticed any increase in fuel consumption either. And it has never backfired...
