Even if you were to put a cat eleminator, air filter, and air box mod, it should be able to do the same as a PC III as far as i can tell. All i can find is that it will richen or lean the fuel mixture just by pushing the corrisponding buttons, no computer or map needed.
i pick up my TB exhaust tomorrow i will ask the yamaha shop if they know more about it.
Well here's how I see, and I think the JB is a nice device, it is pretty much the same as a PCIII. The PCIII does the same thing as the JB, from what I can tell. Now if is made and programmed specifically for the FZ with the TB exhaust that is a good thing.
Remember the JB
IS a computer, it simply by-passes the one on your bike to allow tuning, fat, thin, etc.
The PCIII will allow you to adjust the low, mid and high ranges too but unless you know which way to go it not of much use. You need to know specifically what to change.
The key to the JB or the PCIII is to know what to change and how much. With out a tool such as an O2 sensor or a 4-Gas EGA, or maps that are provided by the mfg of the device; adjustability isn't going to help you that much.
I looked at the TB vid on the JB and it was pretty informative. They said that instead of throttle position, what PCIII used, the incorporate load. So I suppose you can think of the PCIII as a two dimentional map and the JB and a three dimentional map. The PC3 maps is based on one gear 3rd or 4th, the JB is all gear. From what I understood TB loads a map and you can't fiddle with the map, but you and adjust low, mid and high setting, but you can see what you are changing on the computer. So I'm a bit confused. I'm sure it is a very good product, but you can't fiddle with it as much, from what I can tell.
Their guideance is to play with the computer and see what you think. For me I need more difinative imformation, no guessing at it.
If anyone knows more please jump in.
