Turn Signal Relay, where?

Anyone got a pic? From my service manual(i have an 09fz6) it looks like behind the side cover of the shifter side of the bike, the first connector from the left. When i pull this one out and hit the turn signal it still works. Tried it with the second from the left and the same effect. If I pull the flasher relay shouldn't it NOT work? The whole point is I want to buy the flasher relay that corrects the proper speed of the blinking indicators from using aftermarket turn signals. Most likely will buy this:

It's probably in the fairing on the left hand side. That's where it was on my 06..

Your relay is under the dash covers on the clutch side of the bike.
I can't tell if that relay will plug in since it doesn't show the actual plug

Superbrightleds.com has one for half the price that I've been using for about a year with no issues - plugs in and mounts the same as the OEM one.

dash covers? excuse my ignorance but do you mean the side covers like in the diagram above?

That looks like the one I got. I didn't have any issues plugging it in. The rubber band that held the OEM box in place held that one just as well.

I believe it was in the front fairing on the left side.

It may be in the left side of the fairing and the diagram that's been put out by Yamaha that Ron Ayers is using may be wrong. Pull the plastics on the inside of your fairing and look for the flasher relay on the left side. Don't see why they'd change the harness on the later FZ6. If I remember correctly, I went through the same deal looking foe mine. Left side inside fairing....

well i have no fairing anymore! lol. Just the VS-2 naked headlight installed. Dont recall seeing the flasher relay there but i will double check.

Plays/sounds excellent. I just called the dealer and they confirmed for my 09 that the flasher is under the seat by that side cover. Ill see what happens when i get the aftermarket flasher relay in the mail.

thanks. mine was on the right side of the headlight but thats only because thats where i pulled the harness to. Piece of cake to take the flasher out and install the new one. Blinkers now blink at normal speed. sweet. kinda pricey at 25 bucks but ive wasted money on much worse things. lol.
