If you've ever wondered just how far an FZ6 could be pushed, check out the following footage. One of the riders at the recent track day competes in the Yamaha FZ6 cup and is currently leading the comp. He's a top bloke too - Jason Morris. I bolted my camera to his bike for a 15 minute run and I found his corner speed/angle astonishing.

Two things to bear in mind - the rear cog is a 42 tooth instead of 46, so the speedo over-reads by 8%. The bike is set up for racing with slicks, rearsets, no stands, clip-ons etc, but the engine is stock (so we can all ride this fast...)

Secondly, the day was hot (35C/95F) so the bikes were running a bit slower than normal.

Enjoy :thumbup: and good luck to Jason in the final race meet next week

wow

Very nice

I could tell the engine was stock just by the sound of it. lol

Yeah.... That motor is surprizing in it's power band. Great riding!
Thank you for the great video!

I wanna see I wanna see ... but I'm @ work :eek::eek::D

Next season I'm planning to go hardcore on the track with the FZ. Maybe even track only.
The FZ6's power isn't so much off the 600sports bike's.
With the right rider you can go FAST :)

I want to see more FZ6 cup footage. Pic's, vid's that would be great.
Or I could come over to aussie, need to score 1000 euro's for the flight tho :)
