I was wondering if any of you had some suggestions for touch up paint (like brands, process, etc). I managed to chip the paint on the tank tonight when I got home :( (pic attached).

What's the color? Can't really figure it out from your picture. If it's black then it should be easy to find a touch up paint that match in car repair centers / stores.

If the color is too specific, Motorcycle Paint - ColorRite is your friend.

Touch-up, sand it, clear coat, sand it, wax it, wax it and wax it.

It's hard to tell how big that nick is. If it's small but eye-catching, consider a black Sharpie (permanent felt tip marker) to make it blend in.

Not that it applies here, but after I lowsided years ago and scraped up my engine cover on the left side, I sanded it down and used black high temperature BBQ paint. Worked like a charm for $7 and I have a full can of black BBQ paint still. :p

the chip is about 3/16 long. the color is a 2005 stock silver. I've had issues with touch up paint holding that's why I ask.

Thanks.
