Top Speed???

Re: Top speed?

Buck 30+, the 6 was quite stable. Haven't had the 6 over to Neveda to really open it up. Serrious high speed runs are best in open country where animals and cops can't hide.
Been over 140 to many times to count on my FJR, best was 150 fully loaded, GPS confirm last fall on a trip to Colorado. The really fun thing is how quick that 650Lb bike gets up there.

For me, crusing over 100mph in open country is way safer than driving through town around all the crazy cagers.

Re: Top speed?

Yes, it was still fairly interesting. I was also shocked that she would reach that speed. The guy that I left behind on the Road Warrior was a little depressed though. He had just spent a bundle on after market stuff to go faster and the X was stock. Just kidding about the 150 though I dont make a habit of tempting fate.

Just remember, it may not boil down to who can go the fastest. Rather, it may just come down to who can go the fastest for the longest period of time. This is where the riders get separated in terms of comfort control and hanging on for dear life due to a lack of accomplished skills. Tempting fate started the first day you got on 2 wheels. Now it's just another day to add on to your continuing journey. Be safe on them all and the clock of fate will continue........

Talking about tempting fate. Last summer I flew to Bogota, Colombia. Alone!!!! After that experience nothing else seems much of a risk. It is amazing what a man will do for a beautiful woman. I still wouldnt trade the experience for anything.

Too interesting.. I got married 36 years ago and flew away to this POS jungle for 13 months. Came back with little more than a few scratches. Beyond that experience riding bikes is a cake walk. If the clock of fate was going to shut down it should have been there. Columbia "alone"? Now that's pucker power.....

Glad to see you're still with us.....

Was going thru a divorce after 8 years so I was on living on the edge. The place is beautiful. 65 degrees year round. Fruit, flowers, very humble polite people. Nothing like I expected. 8 million people. 2 people eat a full meal for 4 bucks. There are police, security and military everywhere, so I felt safer there than my own home town. I rode the bus everywhere and I am not kidding, every other woman that got on looked like she was a model. the woman i was with kept her elbow in my ribs the whole time. I am not one that is normally looking a lot at women but it was amazing. I just cant describe what the surrounding mountains and everything was like. I loved their culture. I will always miss it. The only part that was unnerving was getting on the return flight. They X-Rayed me after searching thru everything I had. Thanks for chatting. I am glad you guys are here, David

Re: Top speed?

i got up to 147 on I-75, no wind perfect weather, tucked under the windscreen. The only thing that i didn't like, was the damn mirrors where vibrating so I couldn't see what was behind me.

Re: Top speed?

138 mph on I-75 Southbound had the highway to myself. Dropped down to 80 and felt like I was doing 30. Strange thing.....when you let off the throttle at that speed all at once you have to really hang on as the bike seems like it pushes you forward. I was in the crouched position.

Re: Top speed?

Here is a metric run for top end but the guy ran out his safety zone.

Re: Top speed?

I have hit 134 top speed but I just came up on some cars way too fast and had to slow down. Pretty scary.

Top Speed

whats the fastest you've had your fz up to?
during and after break in?

123 MPH here... still on break in.

Re: Top Speed

86 mph not all that fast but theres not to many places I can wind it up around here

What am I saying, 86 is still pretty quick in my opinion;)

Re: Top Speed
