Thursday - 10/18 - Bear Mnt or NJ/PA

Anyone free to ride this Thursday? Should be 70 and sunny! I'm thinking of taking the day off and either riding up to Bear Mtn (pretty much same route as QwickFlick's) or doing a big NJ/PA loop.

Figure something like 10am to 4pm.

So I have one of the most flexible day-off schedules out of most in my industry, but you had to go ahead and book the fews days of the year I have vendors coming to show me some cr@p... thanks Eric .

Yeah.. sorry about the odd day, but I'm going strictly by weather. Who knows how many more nice days like these we'll have before real cold / snow / ice rolls in. I have LOADS of work to do, but mental health is more important

I've officially taken Thursday off. I'll post the Bear Mountain route tonight.
We'll need to figure out where to meet and where to have lunch.
My vote for lunch would be at the top of Bear Mountain.. I can easily make enough almond butter sandwiches for three people .. can also bring coffee or hot chocolate.

We could meet up on Bear Mountain, then do the loop.
Either double back to Bear Mountain again to eat lunch or grab some burgers at a diner in Carmen.

Let's hold off on the meeting time until I post a map and we agree on meeting spot. Last time I went I did not ride past the mall (at least I don't think I did), but if it's going to be in that general area, 10 would be good.

I don't want to leave my house before 9 because of commuter traffic.

I take exit 57 off 287.. never need to take tappan zee.

That road (Skyline) is VERY good too!

So.. can we meet anywhere just off 287 at or before exit 57?

how set are you guys on doing the Skyline?

I am coming from NYC so it would be easier to just take the route 9.

I was thinking of actually just taking route 9 all the way up to Bear Mountain.

I wouldn't mind doing the Skyline if I wouldn't have to get through all the highways.

I am also considering going to Bear Mountain earlier than you guys. I kind of want to see the sunrise from the top of the mountain.

I don't know, let me know what you guys think and want to do.

EDIT:

I could chill out at the mountain for a while after the sunrise and meet you somewhere close by. So we could meet at 10 or whatever time you guys want.

Yeah, Ed.. there's a parking lot on your left, right off Skyline Drive, shortly after you take exit 57 and merge into Skyline:
