Thinking about making Clip on adapter

I will be making this adapter In a bit over a week to see if it works. If it does is anyone else interested in it perhaps?

The adapter bolts up to the factory handlebar clamps and provides a 43mm drop cylinder that allows for the clip ons to be mounted. This arrangement would allow for a greater selection of clip ons that work with our bikes.

Would like to see how it turns out. What kind of material are you planning on using for it? And this will get rid of the top triple?

Not really in the market, but I'd suggest making the "drop cylinders" hollow tubes, open at the top of your adapter. That would allow access to the top of the forks.

Not a big deal for people running stock fork, but I imagine that most of the potential userbase here would already be running R6 forks, and having easy access to the adjusters would be good. Otherwise, they'd probably have to dismount this adapter to tweak settings.

The design already has been tweaked with that in mind (I have R6 forks). It doesn't replace the top triple, instead it bolts on to it where the normal clamps are at.

I will be machining them out of billet 6061 T6 aluminum.

If you're machining something that looks like the triple tree, why not make an actual triple tree with a 1" drop to leave the top of fork tube open for clip ons?

I thought about that but it doesn't provide the extra height that allows for better clip-on selection. Basically even the CBR1100xx clip ons run into the tank and the fairing unless the front of the bike is lowerd about 1.25 inches. If I made a triple with a 1 inch drop you would still have to lower the bike that far to use the same clip ons. with the factory ride height (or near factory, I might design it around a .75 inch drop because I am very fond of that on my own bike) no clip-on would work. by providing a 2.5 inch extension upwards my models show that an F4i clip on would work which are dime a dozen and have huge aftermarket support from stunters etc.
