Anything you want to get to.. a LOT of parts have to come of.

I was adjusting fork leg height.
Things I had to pull off:
- upper fairing/headlights
- air intake
- front brake master cylinder
- Clip-ons

This is one of those times when a naked bike is so much better
On the bright side, I love wrenching nearly as much as I love riding

Time for track body work and Dzus fasteners. With that set up you'll be at frame in 5 minutes.

Yeah, Pete! Not to mention dropping more weight! .. BUT.. it does cost a good chunk of change. I figure I'll keep using OEM plastics until I stuff it and then I'll get track body work

Yah, culture shock when I bought the GSXR and was working on it. Little star and hex bolts everywhere.

They're not too bad. About $650.00 for a whole kit.

You're right about the weight savings
They also crash much better than OEM. They flex before the break.

You could probably sell your OEM kit and more than pay for the track kit.

Know what you mean about the time and effort. So easy to adjust the for position on the FZ6, R6 well no! However the R6 is one of the best track bikes, used to be I'd see mostly GSXR600's but now seems like the R6 is the most common 600 race bike. Lots of bikes means lots of bits and pieces at reasonable prices. First time I changed the oil on my CBR it was, huh I have to take that and that and that and loosen this AND that .... now I can see the oil filter! I'm frustrated by it all then go out and ride and then say yup now that's why I bought the bike.

Excellent point! Though my OEM is scratched up on one side (previous owner dropped it in the driveway). Amazing how scratches turn people off.. the reason I got such a great deal on this bike is because no one wanted to buy it due to scratches :rof:

Track fairings FTW

4 quarter turn dzus fasteners for the belly, 4 or so bolts for the upper fairing, and a few more dzus fasteners for the tail. Naked in no time. Cost isn't bad either unless you pay someone for paint/decals.

The R6-Forum would love your OEM fairings, even if a few are a little scratched...ask me how I know...
