Your scoreline is inaccurate. I will grant you your one point because what is fair is fair. I made a simple and honest mistake which you have chosen, in your hyper-inflated view of yourself as a force for justice, to make a surprisingly big deal of.

So, I congratulate you for preventing the shutout. I guess there is some small victory in that?
Now, with that rectified, I will carry on since lunch is approaching and I’ve got some time to kill. My first response to you many months ago was one of respect and I was actually defending you against several pages of bashing. You have systematically undermined the credit I have given you for your outspoken nature - I do usually default to the side of the outspoken individual. I give, quite heavily, the benefit of the doubt to the loud person who is perceived to be ignorant. Why? Because I too was once a fairly obnoxious individual myself.
So, on your part, it was no small feat turning my opinion from one of a moderate amount of respect to one where your very existence amuses me. Why does it amuse me so? You manage to embody, quite flawlessly, the caricature of a person who holds a view of himself that stands in such stark contrast to his true substance.
Now, I will descend to the level of the personal discussion. I do need to clarify my point above. What is your view of yourself? I think you, along with many people here, are well aware of this. You view yourself as an exemplary example of the adult male. Riding motorcycles allows you to take this view of yourself and show the world just how fabulous you are. Because, after all, you are the first person ever to ride a motorcycle, right? You are exceptionally special. Oh, thank the gods that we have the good fortune to witness the great phenomenon of tcmalker riding a motorcycle! The people will be speaking about it through the ages, and we were here to witness it. Amazing. We are so blessed.
That is your view of yourself. Now, let us contrast that with the substance of the matter. You’re just one random person, from a random place, from a random time period out of billions of people, many places, and countless moments in time. You happened to buy a motorcycle one day. Why? Doesn’t matter. People do that sometimes. And it wasn’t a particularly special motorcycle either. It was one of a line of mass-manufactured bikes. Many thousands of people have the same machine.
So, with your obscurity and relative lack of specialness established, let us examine that which gives you the greatest cause for your elevated view of yourself. You are able to pull on a cable and propel yourself forwards along a linear path. It is amazing that you manage to pull on that cable. The skill involved in doing so is mind-boggling. And the best part? You are able to do it every time! How do you do it? You are indeed correct that your ability to pull on a cable on a machine many thousands of people own makes you a truly remarkable person.
But, sadly, we must prepare ourselves for your departure. The machine whose cable you are pulling does not meet your standards anymore.
While it is true that you have yet to learn how to use the REST of the machine, your exemplary cable-pulling skill has placed you in a position to find a more suitable machine to match your elevated status amongst the global community of riders.
The main thing that has caused me to lose respect for you, tcmalker, is that you are trying to impress the wrong sort of people. The FZ6 owners are a good group of people. They are your civil and courteous motorcyclists. They are your sound and reasonable individuals. They are your mature, polite, and law-abiding citizens. You are trying to establish a reputation of being a “bada55” among polite and mature people. Quite honestly, it is the equivalent of being on staff working as a librarian trying to impress your fellow staff that you are a great soldier because you stubbed your toe getting out of a humvee.
Do you really want to impress someone? Go somewhere the people are genuinely worthy of respect. Go to a stunters forum. Go to a genuine hooligan forum. There the people actually deserve some respect. It is quite impressive the hooliganism they get up to. It is tremendously dangerous but definitely requires a certain calibre of individual to pull off. You will quickly be put in your place for being the insignificant rider that you are. Stop assuming that the tiny bit of attention you get ruffling the feathers of these decent people somehow makes you a person worthy of a moment’s attention. Now go back to the library and show off your motorcycle helmet some more to the 15 year olds that hang out there. I’m sure they will reinforce your vision of yourself.
And this is all leaving aside your being a LEO. I see cops like you all the time. The police department here went bananas on a hiring frenzy for a couple years and now we have all these hotshots on the force. Before they received their badge, these individuals grew up under the heels of greater men in their day to day lives. Now, with the modicum of power that comes with a successful application and the ability to do 10 pushups and 20 situps, their perception of themselves sky-rockets and they see themselves as tremendously superior to the caliber of men that once trampled on their manhood.
