Hi, Whilst riding home from work last night my bike kept stalling? When I pulled up at a junction or lights and dipped the clutch the engine just died. Started again no problem but kept doing it all the way home - and there was a loss in power as accelerating. Started this morning no problem and is running fine. Didn't want to run the risk of riding to work today encase it did it again....Any ideas? 2005 with 10k.

There is a known recall for the throttle position sensor(tps) contact your dealer it should be covered under warranty.

I'll toss in another vote for the tps, but on the off chance that has already been done... what is your idle set for?

Not sure if it's had the TPS replaced - I haven't got any paper work to show it has been done. I have had 1500 trouble free miles in the past 2 months. The only problem for me is my closest dealer is a 2hr ride away and I don't fancy doing it with the stalling issue.
If you guys think this is the problem guess i'll have too....Thanks for the advice.

maybe u wanna check ure idling 1st bro. it should be around 1.35k range. try readjusting ure idling to set a lil bit higher.

Yamaha will have the vin on file if its been taken care of.

Call the dealer and give them your vin

Or contact yamaha directly.

i have had the same problem for the last 2 weeks, the bike was stalling when downshifting or coming to a full stop. The idle is at 950-1050 and i don't know how to bring the idle up, any help?

On the left side of the bike, in between the gas tank and the frame is a phillips head screw with a star shape outside. It is set in several inches but visable. Thats the idle adjustment screw. Clockwise to raise the idle...
