so, you have all been hearing me whine and complain about how much snow we have been getting this year. Well the storm yesterday was too much for what used to be our indoor pool. The roof collapsed last night.

Who said there is global warming?
When you say your indoor pool. Do you me yours as in mine? Or our ours as in the community?
If its yours you have a huge house and im really sorry.
If its the communities then I am still sorry but at least you got a new out door ice rink lol.

Ours as in the condo complex, it is not public, everyone who lives in our complex gets an electronic key (can't be copied) that gives access to that building, has/had the indoor heated pool and hot tub on the left and the community center with large screen tv and pool table, and the Gym upstairs. The building has been temporarily condemned so i can't go to the gym today, but i am hoping they will have it deemed safe for occupancy soon.
I hope its sorted soon for you all, and importantly that no one was injured.

Luckily there was nobody injured in the collapse, although there were some residents actually walking towards the building to go for a swim and they heard a crack, a long loud creak, then watched the whole thing implode. I hope those people made it a point to head to church today. As scary as it is, i wish i had seen it fall. that first picture is a guy fishing insulation out of a tree, also lucky that none of the cars parked along the building last night were damaged.

I don't know how much snow you folks get on a regular basis but one thing does seem really odd to me in regards to the pictures. The pitch angle of the roofs in the photos appears to be real low for an area that would get regular snow. Just looking at them it would appear you could walk up the roof without a restraint. I doubt we get anywhere near the snow you do and a construction firm wouldn't think of building a roof line with a pitch angle that low around here.

we do typically get snow in the winter but this year is 10" shy of beating the record of the snowiest winter in history, another factor that is making this year bad for us is that it is not warming up between storms as much as it usually does. we usually get some melting between storms and it is just not happening, so it piles up and up and up...

yeah, it really is a shame, we were swimming three days before it caved in, indoor pools are great, I just hope they don't convert it to an outdoor permanently.
